*Time sensitive*what do you think is the best restoration technique?

I need some info...I want to order dh something to help with restoration (he's been manually restoring) but wants to see some quicker results. I can't search all the sites on my computer because it's a work computer and some of the words and pics on the sites might get me in trouble...anyway I can get away tonight and I would like to go to my friends place to order it. Any suggestions are appreciated!

BTW-he's not sure that he could use the tape (his own issues) he wants something that you pull on and off, maybe plastic or something???

My DH has been using the TLC Tugger and has been really happy with it. Ron Low (owner of the company) is also a member here on MDC.

Mind me asking...I know all men are different but what kind of results in what sort of time frame? If it's too personal I understand. Will check out the TLC tugger when I get to my friend's

Have you checked in the restoring sticky?

My DH is very happy with the Tugger and has seen fast results. He has sort of slacked off on restoring the past few months, but before that, he probably gained about 1/4" of new skin over a few months. He did have a relatively loose circ to begin with though, so YMMV. Now this is totally TMI, but another good thing about the Tugger is that they have the Oversize option on the Your-Skin Cone, which, um, in our case was a good thing. The website tells you how to tell whether or not you need the regular or oversize, and Ron is awesome. If you e-mail him, he gets right back to you and he is a regular here on the CAC forum.

Here's the Tugger website, and also be sure to check out the foreskin restoration sticky at the top of this page--tons of great info there.

My husband is also using the TLC tugger and liking it. It was hard at first, as he was REALLY snipped. After using it for around 6 weeks, I can tell a definite difference already-the skin is looser. On the site they say it can take a couple of years to be fully restored. I don't think there's anything that will do it very quickly.

Which device to use?

The various devices really only work well if you have some slack skin to begin with. My circumcision was very tight, so no device would have worked at first. Tape was essential.

I believe that the T-tape methods yield the fastest results. They grip the best and thus can provide better tension on the skin, thus faster encouragement for new skin cells to develop.

I have both the CAT II and the TLC tugger/packer. I find that the CAT II grips better and stays on better than the TLC devices. I can get greater tension with the CAT II, so faster results.

Bottom line. Tape works best/fastest for me. CAT II is next choice for speed. It is easier to apply and definitively easier to remove.

A restoration device is a GREAT Christmas Gift! (for both of you)

Just to keep things in perspective, there is no fastest technique that can be supported by unbiased research. All methods work based on the reports form users. The key is to use a method that you will stick with over the long haul.

That said, I think it is cool that you are doing this for your husband. It is perfectly fine and reasonable to try different methods, change form time to time, and alternate between methods.

Best wishes!

My husband has the CAT II and is looking to get something different. I guess he finds it too uncomfortable? I can't remember what his exact complaint was. It seems like he usually has a heck of a time trying to get it on (although he's getting better at it), and then when he wears it he's kind of grumpy (I think it must be uncomfortable.) And we haven't seen any realy noticeable results (it's been a few months). I think if he could find something a little bit easier to work with he would wear it more consistently so the results would be better. I know there is a more expensive device he wants to purchase soon, but I can't remember which one it was.

Because I am using a work computer I can't go looking around at all the sites that offer restoration tools, etc.. Anyway, I was wondering when you say "slack in the skin" for using say the TLC does that mean when erect or flacid. I know it calls for a measurement for both but if there is no extra skin when erect does that mean he should go for the T tape first or could he still try with the TLC or the CATII?

Just a side note...dh is ready to get started ASAP (not something I am pushing on him) just trying to be supportive as his circ has called for a lot of emotional and now physical healing. I am so proud of him though for being in touch with that!

Thanks for all the responses so far (it seems like an overwhelming process) so I appreciate the help.

Oh and would a VERY small amount of skin when erect qualify for either the TLC or the CAT II?

I'd like to put in a word for the DTR and TLC-X. My partner had used both and liked both pretty well however had to stop restoring when he went into the Army (for obvious reasons). He plans on restoring once he's back from deployment and will probably pick up a TLC-X. It's easy on/off, had good results, caused no pain or visible bulging in the pants, and no straps (which was his biggest gripe with the original TLC Tugger)

Don't go crazy, it is really pretty simple. Apply tension and grow skin. The method is not the big issue, many work. Since you are simply getting something for your DH to try/add to his mix of techniques, just get one and let him see how he likes it.

It has been said that the best method (device in your case) is the one that he will use over the long haul. It needs to become routine, like brushing teeth. All it takes is patience and perseverence.

Regards

I too am looking to get DH a restoration device. He is too busy with work and school to actually do the research (plus I think he is just overwhelmed with it all).
Is there a link for TLC-X? Is that from the same maker as TLC tugger?
