So, I'm curious. I don't think I've ever seen a poll about WBV/WCV on here. We don't vax and DS hasn't been to the doc since last january. I'm considering calling up and making him an appointment so that we're on a yearly schedule to stop in and say 'hi'... he hasn't been sick enough to warrant a visit yet otherwise!!

Poll: Do you do WBV

Poll from the other thread, since my browser decided to crash in the middle of filling out the poll thing. Grumble.

We have seen a Chi ro every week since DD was born, but she hasn't seen a Ped or any other medical doctor since she was 2 months old. (She'll be 5 in March)

My son is 7 months and so far we have done WBV's....after the 6 month one I fired that ped and have found one who is a little more laid back about the whole vax issue. I ahve not met with her yet , but plan on going for the 9 month WBV. I like to get him weighed and measured and given a once over I guess, but if I find that this new doc is going to give me grief as well than I have no problem stopping the WBV....My son has an ND that we go to when he gets sick so I guess the WBV's are just to see his growth progress

We went to 3 wbv's between 0-12 months, 1 between 12-24 months, 1 between 24-36 months, and at that last appointment, the doctor said to come back when DD turns 5 (so a 2 year space between visits).

I voted we go as needed and don't vax.

Doctors are for extremely sick/injured people. Not healthy/minimally ill ones.

I voted "other" because it was different with each kid.

When the girls were little, I did not do regular WBV and delayed vaccines until age 2ish (slightly younger for DD2 since I needed to put her in daycare and wasn't yet informed about exemptions.)

When DS was an infant, I did all WBV because we had CPS on our tail (once a month visits due to a domestic violence situation) and she would ask about the WBVs. Actually, she said "Has he been to the dr? Is he up to date on all his shots?" and I answered "yup, he's been to the dr" and gave the dates of his recent and upcoming appts.

Now that the kids are bigger, I'm pretty sure we won't be doing any more vax at all, and I take all 3 kids for their annual checkups.

We do WBV and do not vax. I will do the same for the next one too.

I chose we only go as needed...but so far it hasn't been needed for my almost 5 YO. We don't vax.

Only go as needed and do not vax, sometimes it coincides with a WBV. If I can throw it in with a WBV I don't have to pay a copay.

With my other 3 kids we did the WBV for 6 months. After that it was as needed. They aren't vaccinated- my oldest is but we stopped at his 6mo shots.

My youngest was a preemie, had serious jaundice, serious weight loss, serious asthma. We went to his appointment and then some for the first 8 months and now we go every 4 months just to check his lungs.

I have MediCal and don't pay a co-pay. Before that when we had private insurance it was DEFINATELY an issue to pay for each visit and it got really expensive.

We're getting back to going on schedule to WBV's, and we do not vaccinate. If something happens with ds where he's hurt or something and cps ever became and issue, I want paper work showing I'm not a neglectful mother for not vaccinating. I think going to the dr's on schedule and showing that I care about my son's health and am doing what I truly believe is best for him would carry a lot more weight than never going and letting cps or whomever assume I don't care about my son's health. (I am not in any way saying those who don't go don't care about their kids health... I'm just saying that may be how cps or someone would look at it.)

I just don't want to give anyone any room to jump to conclusions and question my ability to parent. So that is why we go to wbv's on schedule.

As needed, no vax

(as needed for my toddler has been on a monthly basis due to her lung issues ... so no worries if CPS needs records for her)

We go once a year and don't vax at all.

However, as of Jan 1 we will only have catastrophic health insurance because our insurance went up 20%, and now we can't afford it...so, we will not do wbv anymore...

I only did them so that we would have a decent relationship with the doctor in case one of the kids was sick anyways. I don't see the point for us otherwise.

We do not do well baby visits on schedule but we do do some.

We vax but delayed and selective.

I like developing a relationship with our doc and family, and he's that kind of doctor so it works well. I think that is good to have for us. My husband and I also do yearly physicals and we all see the same guy.

Just adding this link:

Merging your poll with the original thread too.

My older two go in about once a year, DD2 has reflux that was bad enough to affect her weight gain and is on meds so she's been in twice (whenever she needs a refill). None of them are vaxed.
Don't vax, only saw the Dr when she was sick enough that I wanted their advice.
