Watching your face

I am not sure if anyone else does this but for the past few years while eating NT I watch my face on a daily basis... using a mirror and a backlight so the shadows can properly show the planes of the face.... I noticed some interesting things. When I eat too much fat I don't like how I look... It almost becomes to round.. When I eat too much protein to much goes to my lower jaw... when I eat too many carbs especially simple ones my face seems bloated. When I eat dairy products I get deeper circles under my eyes if I look close.... my nose looks more swollen ... and I noticed that on days when I look the best I have absolutely perfect digestion. I remember reading that the point of the "zone" diet is that it has the lowest experimental insulin levels for food combination... I think lowering the insulin impact is key to health and therefore some things I have noticed:

Supposedly 40 complex carbs, 30 % protein and 30 % fat leads to the lowest insulin levels

Supposedly those who sleep 6 to 8 hours a night no more or less have the best insulin levels.

I have noticed watching my face that I look my best when sleeping around 6.5 to 7.5 hours which pretty much fits in with this evidence.

A couple more things.. supposedly to get the best insulin levels of all you would need to do a "day on day off diet" . I have yet to have the guts to try this for fear of losing weight.

Complex carbs slow digestion down but also so does eating fat with a meal... and also it depends on what order you eat a meal in.. if you start out with carbs you will spike your insulin more.

Just thought I would share...
