The Beginning of the End?

Well, late last night Lovey was doing a number on my cervix...ow! Ow! Ow! And she seems to be staying dropped this time.

Early this morning (4 something) I woke up to pee and behold! Bloody show! : (Who would have ever guessed I'd be so excited about vaginal discharge, eh?) From what I've been reading on the MDC boards and elsewhere it seems that bloody show could mean she'll be here within 72 hours...or within 2 weeks. 2 weeks from today would put me at 40w3d (and be my wedding anniversary). Whether she comes within the next few days, or the next two weeks it looks likely that I'll not be going into January. phew! I do hope she comes before Christmas though!

I've also been very crampy, though nothing regular.

So, I guess this could mean things are happening, or not.

I'm trying not to be, but I'm very excited.

Good luck Holly for an easy labor, I'd guess more like 72 hours than 2 weeks but I don't want to get your hopes up!

Oh HOLLY!!!!!! I'm so excited for you! I hope LESS than 72 hours for you! Was Adam excited too? I can't wait to see what adorable babies you and him make!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Best wishes!

My mw says 1-3 days for after show and that seems pretty standard. It CAN go longer, but it seems unlikely. I've been crazy about checking toilet paper the last week or so, so I can understand the excitement. Try to get some relaxing in and let things happen.

This. 1-3 days and I check mine and hope and wish to see something down there as well! Yep..very exciting to see that...who would ever guess the joy it brings to a woman to see the TP stained?!

Good luck, Holly! I'm really excited for you I can't wait to see what happens and read your birth story and see lots and lots of pics of her

Wishing you a easy and wonderful labor and birth!

Yay! I've been checking in to see if you've had your baby yet. Should be anytime now! I was very crampy for about 16 hours before I went into labor with this baby, so that sounds like a good sign. You're about to begin the most incredible and powerful adventure of your life... birth and motherhood... horray!

No, no, not the end, it's just the beginning! How exciting for you and your family!! Hope you're able to rest during the excitement. And also hoping that some of your bloody show vibes rub off on the rest of us!

Take good care - I'm sending wishes for a peaceful and happy birth.

Yeah, he was. Which was good, since I woke him up to show him.

All you mamas saying 1-3 days have got me feeling more excited. If I go another two weeks I'm coming after you!

I'm still crampy, but not as often or strong as this morning/last night. I want to get out and walk to get things moving (and by out, I mean go to the mall, or Wal-Mart because there ain't no way I'm walking in 6+ inches of snow and -9F temperatures! : However, I'm under orders from the doctor to be lazy because of slightly elevated blood pressure. At least that means I'll be sure to be relaxed and rested. I am drinking my RRL tea though. Hopefully that'll help.

Ohhh...that's a good cramp, right there. Yowch.

Anyone want to start making bets on what day Lovey will get here? j/k

It's actually fairly common to have bloody show only with your first...that's what I've had. Bloody show with #1, but none with #2 or #3!

However, I definitely think it's a good sign! Sometimes it can happen from sex/internal exams too though.

Good luck Holly and keep us updated!!!

Haven't had either in a long time. :

Still having mild and irregular contractions. I'm on my 6th strong brewed cup of RRL tea today.

I think she'll be here by the end of the week. But maybe that's just wishful thinking rather than intuition.

Well, DH generously donated some prostaglandins...

And almost immediately I started having contractions. Right now they're about 3 minutes apart and lasting for about a minute. I'm going to time a few more and then if things are still moving I'm calling the doula! :

Well, DH called the doula, no answer. So we paged her and are waiting to hear back. Contractions are consistent. This could be it! I'm wearing my birthing necklace and trying to relax.

What you aren't posting continuously through your contractions?

Hoping for a great update in a few hours. Good luck!
