lunar cycles?

Maybe someone here can help me out. I am new to the whole idea of astrology, am rediscovering my pagan celtic roots, am drawn to wicca and oh yeah, I am happily catholic too!

Anyway, my question is about lunar cycles. I am discovering kind of by accident that my moods and behaviors, (and of my DD and even my dog!) are effected by the moon. The past few days with the full moon we have all been out of sorts, short-tempered and kind of nuts. I was totally unaware of the full moon until I was joking about it with FIL and he told me it was indeed full!
Any good resources out there about this?

There are 8 phases to a moon.
new
crescent
first quarter
gibbous
full moon
disseminating
third quarter
balsamic.

Thanks, that does help explain some things. Wierd, I never paid attention to astrology or lunar cycles before and now all of the sudden I randomly find out that being Sagittarius explains my personality and outlook to a tee, as well as my virgo DH's and our relationship and now I happen to notice a supermoon effecting behavior without even trying to notice or pay attention,
