Help! Need a novel I can sink my teeth into. - Page 2

Audrey Niffenegger - The Time Traveler's Wife is what I was going to recommend. I think it fits your description - creepy, supernatural, romance really well.
If you like the Twilight books you might like Sunshine by Robin McKinley. Different vampires, parallel world and some romance in a gothic sort of way. (Gothic in the 19th century romance version of the word not visigoths, flying buttresses or black clothing.)

I utterly agree about Neil Gaiman. I'm currently reading Ananzi Boys and DH just finished The Graveyard Book. You might try American Gods. Coraline is awesome. I can't wait for the movie.

You might want to check out the latest issue of Bitch magazine - the noir issue. It's filled with juicy tidbits on noir genre books, movies and graphic novels. It's usually sold at borders or b&n.

I'm reading The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova right now and I'm really enjoying it. I prefer adult fiction too.

You need good snacks for that book.

Not creepy, but sci/fi/alternate worlds, A Door Into Ocean, by Joan Slonczewski. Considered feminist sci/fi, I believe. I didn't "read" it, but my dh edits audio books and did this one, and I proof his work so I listened to it. I thought it was beautifully written and moving.

If you're looking for creepy, Margaret Atwood is a great author. Oryx and Crake is probably the creepiest I've read, but I love everything of her's I picked up.
