What warms your heart?

I know there are many details about our babies that only we have observed, but if you're like me, you have yet to record them. (I don't blog, can you tell?) So, here is our thread to do that with. Brag, laugh, share your anecdotes about those moments that you hope to always remember with your little one.

Bryson is a double sneezer. But, if he is somehow interrupted before the second sneeze, he does this really loud "Oh" sound complete with a little round mouth. Sooo cute.

I can put Bryson on the changing table and he'll totally relax, until I start to unbutton his outfit. Then he'll stretch, get excited, and that often leads to a little spit up and some hiccups for the rest of the changing session. When I peel the velcro of the diaper, he startles and then starts to cycle his legs. I have to wait to open the diaper until he relaxes. At the end of the change, he puts his hands down in a stretch to block me from fastening the diaper.

When we have play time, he imitates my twitch of my nose and mouth shape when I say hi. This morning he also, very purposefully, said the syllables of I Love You. It sounded like a deaf person speaking, and he held eye contact the entire time.

I am always so impressed by the older men who are so interested in seeing a mother & newborn. I'm also impressed at how many people have stopped me to ask about my Moby.

I love, love, love how she coos and smiles at me with my nipple in her mouth. It has to be the sweetest thing I've ever seen.

There are so many things about Iris that I want to remember forever but the few that really stick out lately are...

~the way she can go from screaming to cooing the instant I put her down on the changing table. There is this art quilt I made of a pregnant mama that hangs above it that Iris adores. Its the funniest thing, she'll immediately start "talking" to her. We call it Iris' "lady."

~how she loves her siblings, and is completely enamored with her biggest brother. They have such a sweet relationship. She always responds to him with the biggest smile.

~the way she instantly settles down when we sling her. She really loves dh to wear her in the fleece pouch. The other day dh took our 3 littles to the museum so I could get some school work done. I was so worried about her so I called dh, who said she was sound asleep in her sling. He even sent me a picture of her from his blackberry to prove it.

His smiles when he sees me or his dad. His funny expression when the boob comes out-he gets all excited about it.

Addie has this little fist shake she does in her sleep. She will streeeetttttcccchhhhh her little arm above her head with her hand clenched in a fist and then shake her fist back and forth really quickly. We just die in silent laughter every time.

She will talk to me around my boob and smiles as she's eating; these gurgly little coo's.

How big she smiles at her Daddy. It's obvious she knows him, loves him, and is just so happy to see him whenever he's home.

Oh! Nora does this too, and you're right, it is the sweetest thing ever!

When Nora is nursing, she gets tiny beads of sweat on her teensy little nose. I adore this. I never want to forget it.

Sometimes she hums in her sleep. Just a soft little, "Mnnnn, Mnnnnn...". Chris has told me that I do this, too, and always have. It makes me feel like she and I share this special connection.

There are so many things. I too wish I had written down her firsts - like the first smile, the first session of baby babble. Everything just started happening so fast!

I'm enjoying this thread. All our babies are so adorably unique!

*Hazel will often pop off my breast and smile up at me with milk dribbling out her mouth.*

*Since birth, she has made a noise while she nurses that resembles a dog's squeak toy. It's especially loud during my letdown and the gulping that ensues afterward. I get quite a lot of looks when NIP and all my friends say they love hearing it.*

*She goes "Wiggle, wiggle. Kick, kick, kick" on the changing table.*

the giant gummy drooly smile that is only reserved for mommy

the way he plays with his ear when he is nursing.

watching my husband feed him the bottle and talk gently to him about all the things he wants to teach him and show him in this world.

the way he clenches his little fists and holds them by his face when he is cold.:

the look on his face during bath time - pure zen!

looking at him and getting a flash of what he will look as a toddler and a small boy... i get so happy and sad in that moment, knowing he will grow up healthy and happy, but that he is going to leave this baby body and face behind at some point...

I love the smell of her! So delicious! I could just bottle it and breath it in!

I love holding her in the sling and keeping her close to my chest...the weight of her sleeping body is so calming.

I love the feel of her soft head.

I love her smile...it doesn't get much better than that!

My favourite thing has got to be his contented little sighing grunts between swallows when he's nursing. It's so obvious how happy he is.

I love how Anna opens her mouth wide when she's hungry and she sees me opening my shirt. She has such a look of delighted anticipation. She looks like a little baby bird. It cracks me up and fills me with motherly awe all at once.

Her smile. And she's starting to coo now and will do it after I say something to her like she's having a conversation with me. I was telling dh yesterday how she's starting to look more like a "real" baby and less like a generic newborn, and how pretty she is now and I got teary, lol. Just looking at her these days makes me all warm and fuzzy :

Yes Ainsley is starting to smile when I put her in position and she sees my boob. It's so sweet
