LOTR fans - Page 2

I saw it! I am guessing it's in Rivendell right before Pellenor Fields? Elrond may be bring the sword reforged (which isn't how it works in the book...he gets it before the fellowship leaves Rivendell.)

DVD 4 did have Frodo as gollum-like. Hurrah! My 2yo calls Gollum "baby monster." She asks for "baby monster" all the time after seeing snatches on my laptop. Not gonna happen though.

Baby Monster! Bwahahaha! She's right, I see it!

Now, Abi, you're being such a purist, here, sticking to the topic like you are

VEE-go. Got it. Like vee-go to bed now? Ah ha.

Ah, yes, Johnny the Pirate. I've got a thing against violence, but I might just have to make another exception here ...

Orlando's pretty cute, but he needs a few more years to roughen him up a tad.

Ok, back to our regularly scheduled program ...

That is pretty unusual of me isn't it? I am pretty bad about hijack participation normally..:LOL

well..it *is* a LotR thread and I am a rabid Tolkien fan and have been since I can remember. If it is any clue how long I have loved Tolkien, rather than baby books my parents recorded our milestones on Tolkien calenders **I can scan mine if you don't believe me it is kind of funny**

Clarity, I dunno. Maybe it is before Pellenor Fields..Aragorn went up that way anyways to gather the Rangers before taking the Paths. So I can see them having it so he has the sword reforged in Rivendell before gathering them. It does kind of make sense that way even though it isn't canon.

For those with a Viggo infatuation...

Here's an article for you (though it may be old hat for some; I don't keep up with this sort of thing, usually):

And to boot, he's publicly critical of the Bush administration!

Quote:
A frequent critic of the Bush administration, Mortensen said part of what appealed to him about "The Lord of the Rings was its positive message about integrity in leadership.

"Everyone thinks (Aragorn) is the man for the job, because he has humility, a concern with the consequences of his actions and words on others and an interest in finding common ground with other people. All are qualities which I wish there were more of in real life in our modern-day leaders. There's an unfortunate lack of humility and overabundance of arrogance."
And, to top it off, he was married to Exene Cervenka (but give me John Doe of the early 1980's - *pant pant pant*)
