Please send this letter to the 5 Assemblymember/ Senators listed at the bottom of the email- it will only take a minute........AND FORWARD TO AS MANY PEOPLE AS YOU CAN so they can show their support too!
Please write "SUPPORT THE PHILOSOPHICAL EXEMPTION BILL (Bills A05468, S3031)" in the subject line
Dear Assemblymember/ Senator,
I received an email asking for support for Bill A05468/ S3031.
I support this bill 100%. If a parent wants to vaccinate their children, they are free to do
so. They are free to carry out on an act that they feel protects their children. But I, and
any other parent, should be able to opt out after deciding it conflicts with a sincerely held
belief system, whether spiritual, religious or philosophical.
As the law stands now, the school district can inquire into the details of one’s faith and
navigate how a parent wishes to raise their children. This is an inappropriate role for them
and unnecessarily adds to their long list of responsibilities regarding running a school
district. To be quizzed and tested on a belief system is crazy. The fact the law is
interpreted in hundreds of different ways makes absolutely no sense.
Additionally, the list of mandatory vaccines is out of control and many believe the shots
do more harm than good. There is wealth of information and research that supports this
assertion. Do pharmaceutical companies have our, or their, best interests in mind? A
parent should be able to freely live their answer to that question.
Thank you for being a politician with an attentive and understanding ear. I wish you, and
all of us, luck in getting this bill passed. You will have helped children, parents and
families.
Sincerely,
