my kefir grains fell in the sink.

I dropped about 1/2 a cup of milk kefir grains in my kitchen sink. There were other dishes in the sink, and probably some soap, too. Can they be saved? Would you use them? Is there something else I can use them for?
eta: I have a TON of grains, so losing these isn't the end of the world, I just hate to throw away grains!

Probably not but it's worth a try. I'd rinse them really well in filtered water, put them in some milk and see what they do. I wouldn't drink the kefir though for a couple of batches just in case.

nope. i wonder what would happen if i added them to like, a potted plant? or the christmas tree water? haha, at least then i wouldn't feel like they were going to waste, even if it was for nothing.
