Strangely enough, it was in the news today that the Adam Walsh case has finally been closed.
I lost DS2 at Virginia Beach when he was 5. He was gone for maybe 5 minutes, but it was the longest 5 minutes of my life. I didn't know if he'd been grabbed, wandered off, or drowned.
He'd gotten distracted by something and then lost sight of our little gaggle of people, and went the wrong way looking for us. Since then, we've always pointed out landmarks at the beach the minute we find a spot to settle down in.
