Could this be an adverse event?

I have just heard of a baby that was born healthy and 2 weeks post birth became very ill and after 5 days was admitted to hospital with bleeding on the brain and a damaged liver. The baby has had surgery on her brain and is considered stable, although there is still bleeding on the brain.

They are trying to figure out what happened.

Could this be possibly related to the Hep B? If you think so, do you have any links that I can pass on to the parents? I have no idea what their stance is on vaccination.

This is so sad . This couple have had the hardest time becoming parents.

I would wait for medical tests to be exhausted and no other explanation found before jumping to that conclusion...

Totally agreed! I do not think anyone is jumping to any conclusions... I am hoping that there are other mama's here who do have stories to share and information to share.

You can't really know at this point... my son's brain was bleeding at that age - from the vacuum suction used during delivery. He didn't get hep b at birth.

They wouldn't even begin to guess what caused it until his bleed cleared and his brain healed completely and they were able to do an MRI - 4 months later.

So the baby was born healthy. They did all the checks before being released and a couple weeks later had bleeding in the brain. I'm surprised the parents weren't questioned for shaken baby and made suspects number one.

I'm assuming the baby was vaccinated before leaving the hospital. Since encephalitis is a known but "rare" side effect to vaccination and can certainly result in bleeding in the brain, it would be nice if that was followed up on. I would definitely, whole-heartedly, attempt to discern if the shot that is known to have toxic substances in it, and is known to have potentially damaging side effects, could have been involved. The liver does try to fight off nasty toxins and can, as a result, be damaged. I imagine that thought has yet to cross the minds of those caring for the children.

Thank you for sharing... That sounds very scary

This is the niece of a friend of mine, so I don't have much information - like what kind of birth they had. All I know is that they left the hospital healthy and 2 weeks later the baby was sick. And that now it is all very much up in the air. I cannot imagine going through something that scary with your baby
