Which is better?? I'm going to order some for ds, who's almost 2.5. Also, tips on where to order it from? We're getting some butter oil as well.

Thanks!

I've been wondering the same thing.

Anyone know why fermented CLO is all the rage now?

Fermented is the original clo. That is the way it used to be made in Norway.
It is naturally better for you.
Have not tried the Blue Ice fermented yet. Have one more bottle of the regualar clo/bo blend to get through first.

I tried to answer this the other day, but couldn't stomach it through the morning sickness. Today's a better day.

The fermentation increases the concentration of nutrients, so you get more of everything in less oil. You also get E and, in particular, K2 (Price's activator X, which we usually take butter oil for), which are not present in high amounts in regular CLO.

Also, the proportion of A to D is better -- basically, there's more D for every A unit, which is important because D is needed to process A. It's also important because we're all dancing with D deficiency.

It also tastes like HEdoublehockeysticks. But that's another subject. But you only have to take a quarter teaspoon to get more than you get in a full teaspoon of regular CLO. Maybe that makes up for the taste...

I got a great deal a while back on the discontinued licorice flavor fermented CLO (thanks for the tip, MDC poster). It's not too bad flavor wise and it's such a small amount that we squirt it in the back of our throats and swallow (avoiding the taste buds as much as possible).

Here's my issue, I really like the omega 3s in CLO and my bottle of fermented only has 140mg EPA & 75mg DHA. I think we need more than that both for the repair DH and my bodies need during marathon/half marathon training AND for our boys' growing brains. Any opinions?

FWIW, the FCLO also has 3500min vit A & 600min vit D in each mL.

Wow, it tastes worse than regular CLO??? I'm already finding my regular Blue Ice orange-flavored quite repulsive. Hmmmmm.....

Will I be able to find this locally, or am I going to need to order online?

I'm pretty sure you've got to get it online.

Do you have a source for this? I am very confused b/c my bottle of FCLO says 1 mL has 50% of DV vit A (does not specify # of IUs). The HVCLO bottle says that 1/2 teaspoon of it contains 100% DV or 5,000 IUs. So, in order to get 100% DV or 5,000 IUs, you would need 2 mL or 3/8 tsp of FCLO. But I was thinking maybe the DV had changed in between the 2 bottles. I understand FCLO is much better, but in trying to explain why to my family, I am getting thoroughly confused.

The FCLO bottle also doesn't specify a value of vit D. It would be nice to know the value of vit K & E as well.

I got it off of our bottle of fermented CLO (licorice lips)

If you go to this website:
http://www.greenpasture.org/products/fermented-oil/1039

and click on "product label" (scroll to the right to see the vitamin breakdown)

it matches my bottle

HTH!

Yep, I ordered the same a few months ago. It was my first time trying fermented hvclo, and I noticed that it kind of soothes the stomach more. I like it.

Could you do something like Flax Oil to get those added Omegas without the extra Vitamins A and D?

great idea, thanks! but how exactly do you add flax oil? I've never used it before...do I have to choke it down like CLO?

sprinkle a little on salad with "dressing" and toss

also, you can buy flax seeds, grind them and use them in porridge, or cereal, or shakes....something (at least for me) that sort of masks the taste. Good for fiber as well. My dd just chews on them.....
make sure you use them freshly ground though....I think they go rancid quickly..

I'm wondering about this too.

I put flax oil on our granola and yogurt, porridge, or into smoothies. It doesn't have a strong taste.

I also keep whole flax seeds in the fridge and grind them as I need them so they don't go rancid.

I think you can also do a fish oil supplement for more EPA and DHA.

:

Carlson's fish oil has no A & D in it, and is high quality in terms of metal purity.
