My yogurt died?

Hi there!

Well, I;ve been making my own yogurt for 2 weeks now and every time it's been beautiful, thick and tasty: everyone in the family loved it. Well, last night I was drying out my sprouted grains for grinding and didn't have an extra rack for the oven (i didn't know this until my yogurt was ready to culture) and left my yogurt milk starter out for a couple hours while the grains finished drying.
This morning, instead of a nice thick yogurt, I had a soupy sour thing that was pretty gross and not really appetising at all.
So, I'm going to buy new yogort from the store (organic) and try again, but is there anything I can do with the defunt yogurt other than put it down teh drain? It would seem a shame to waste over a litre of organic milk for a screw-up.

Thanks!

was the milk raw or pasteurized?

If it was pasteurized, I'd dump it. If it was raw, you can use it in other things.

Chances are good that either way the yogurt didn't die, but the milk turned before the yogurt could do it's thing, since the temperature wasn't right.
