One thing I made for DD was a matching microphone and crown set. I made it from a wool sweater from Goodwill. There is a picture in my recycled crafting blog, link in my signature.

Do these count? I made 19 of them

It's a marshmallow shooter! I made them for everyone at Christmas and brought along some marshmallow ammo. My son thought the part you blow in looked like a scope, so that's how he posed.

I love that elephant. Seeing a pic of the cut up scraps really helped me because I've been having trouble reusing scraps... now I know that I should be cutting them up more.

JessicaTX-- what is it?? :P

I have too many scraps too. The elephants use up a lot, so that helps. I keep my scraps in a bag, then when I need a lot, I snip them up into a bowl. It is a lot easier to stuff using the little tiny pieces. It doesn't get lumpy.

I was going to ask the same thing about Jessica's picture. Is it a paint ball gun? A spitball gun? A periscope?

I already posted in another thread, but of course I use every opportunity to show off..

Here are mine:

Ornaments-- these are going to become play balls when we take the decorations down. I just can't bear to leave them boxed up all year!

Pocket baby
for niece

Playsilks

Pocket baby for DD and Frosty ornament

I also made some woolies and a doll, but no pics yet.

Ahhh me too, I used my scraps to stuff some of the initial felt food, but they were lumpy, never dawned on me to chop the scraps small, next time

And Nolimum, those ornaments are gorgeous!

These aren't presents, but! Our stockings, and my fabric gift bags.

I'm a newbie seamstress, but I've become inspired to make really nice decorations next year for Christmas. I grew up with a few loops of stringy tinsel above the doors and a fake tree; I want my children to have some nicer Christmas decorations around! So I've been looking up Christmas patterns for the last few days. I found a few nice fabric wreath patterns, one scrappy and one with braided tubes of fabric. I want to do some table runners, too (I love Martha Stewart's idea of having two table runners, one on each side of the table, with the plates on them like they were big placemats, and the centre of the table bare). And make an Advent calendar - not a flat wall hanging-type one, but a sort of garland one with lots of little pouches and cones and pockets (big enough to hold a chocolate or so) attached to a swag of fabric. Or something. Haven't found a pattern for that either, but I can wing it. It'll be good practice for making small pursey things! I'm thinking tiny stuffed mice scampering about and wooden numbers dangling from the purses... countryish fabrics, muted gold and browns and creams and dull greens. But I shouldn't get too ambitious, my sewing skills are still firmly in the 'sucky' range! Oh, and did I mention I want to make some Christmassy cushion covers? Any free patterns you like are welcome--I prefer abstract over Santa/reindeer/nativity stuff, although I could go with a bit of nativity if it was extremely classy. And I like vaguely countryish, rustic, textured stuff, but not hokey or kitsch... see, I'm not fussy at all, am I! I want to make some tree decorations too, but no idea what. Maybe some fabric angels, but again, they'd have to be ultra-classy.

Thanks!

Smokering-- You've got some very specific plans!! I know what you mean about liking rustic stuff but nothing hokey. I'm the same way.

I forgot, I also made ribbon rings for DD's 3rd birthday, here is a picture!

I've never posted pictures before, but let's give this a try!

Me and DSD made the snowmen ornaments out of felt and random embellishments (we make at least one variation of Christmas tree ornaments every year).

I made of ton of the no-sew fleece pillows for gifts for extended family and friends.

And I made horsies for my DS and niece and nephew after seeing this from a super cool talented mama around here!

Wow, this thread took on another life...I thought it got buried and I forgot to check in on it.

Thanks for sharing all the lovely pictures of your amazing handiwork. Such talented ladies!

Tilia, I love your recycled craft blog. I also enjoy the challenge of finding ways to reuse old things to make beautiful items. I also have too many fabric scraps in my basement. I have so many ideas for things to make, but no time between school, work, and of course DS .

Keep the pictures coming!
