Brooklyn Mamas - Page 2

Thursday could work for us. We are starting a music class at 10:30 in the morning. But are free after that. I think the aquarium would be fun and would LOVE to go to a mom-baby movie in the near future. There are so many movies I want to see!

i was just coming here to resurrect the old mama meetup thread!!
(ETA: it's not possible to post to that archived thread any longer.)

anyway,
i'm interested in getting together... especially with toddlers. my 17 month old son loves older kids! any mama's of older toddlers/young kids interested in getting together?

the aquarium sounds like an awesome idea!

ok, how about the aquarium on thursday, january 15 at 1:00? the toddlers can toddle, the babes can be carried, the mamas can talk, and everyone can look at the fish...

That sounds like a plan to me. :

I have a six-week old so when I hear "outing" it really means "nap opportunity"...

I'd love to join but I'm wondering about the time b/c there is a brooklyn La Leche meeting that day at 11....I don't know how many of these mamas are planning on going. I am & could make the aquarium by 2 but probably not 1.

Would 2 work for folks?

Yeah! we can make it, either 1 or 2. I imagine we'll still be there at 2 if people come a little later.

Oops after requesting a time change I just realized I will have in-laws in town..
So I may make it, with in-laws in tow, or I may not. Anyhow, I'm sure we will all trickle in as baby-time allows & find each other.
hope to meet up soon, if not this one then the next.

great! 2pm on thursday it is! anyone know the aquarium well enough to suggest a good meeting place? we will likely be pretty obvious to one another, but could be good to have a plan...

Barring some weird hangup or circumstance, Felix and I will be there too.

Hey ladies,

I'm sorry to say, but, we won't be coming. My DD is 5 1/2 months old and I would rather keep her in than go out in this weather. Those of you who do go, have fun! We'll just have to make the next outing.

We are off to the aquarium, snow and all. Actually it looks beautiful out right now! Hope to see some of you there!

well that is the best reason possible to miss the aquarium!

it was fun -- beautiful sparkly day with the water animals. Zackary and I were alone for a while, but just as I was bummed that nobody else had shown up, two other mothering families showed up with adorable babies. awesome!

for the next meetup, I recommend we think of someplace with both a fun, stimulating element for the babes, and a comfortable seating area for a nursing/changing break. the botanical garden has a nice indoor cafe area so that could fit the bill. or perhaps a museum? I'd also like to try for a mommy-baby movie -- maybe with lunch or tea afterwards so we could talk too?

any interest? other suggestions?

Lydia

I'd love to host people at my place some day. We have a range of toys from baby through big kids (my older one is 6.5) and enough space for a bunch of moms to hang out in the livingrooms and chat.
