How to implement Rosetta Stone with 6-year-olds?

I just got the Rosetta Stone Spanish package and am bewildered by all of the stuff that comes with it. My kids are by no means ready to start reading or writing in those workbooks. Can somebody give me some quick tips on how to get started with it? Can I just use the CD-ROM for now?

Also, does anyone use the Student Management Software that comes with it (at least the version that I have)? It seems like it might be useful to keep track of me and the kids progress, but I'm having trouble getting it set up . .

Thanks~!

Yes! Just use the CD-rom and have fun, they can always do the "extras" when they are older. In fact some versions of RS don't come with all that extra stuff, most of that is just in the hs package. Pop in the CD, make sure all your hardware is functioning and have fun!

Mine didn't come with any workbooks or anything else (I wish it did! That would be a great compliment to the online stuff, a way to review the words when the program isn't booted up, etc.) but then I didn't purchase the specific "Homeschool" version. From looking at the RS website, I couldn't see any significant difference between the different versions, and bought a used copy off ebay. I wouldn't use any "homeschool tracker" software anyway.

Just use the software and let the child play!

Absolutely! Just use the computer-based stuff. And skip the reading lessons (depending on the language and your dk's reading level) on the computer. My 5yo has been having a blast with RS Japanese this week. We are looking forward to getting the workbook stuff when we purchase the French program in January for my 10yo, but it's certainly not an essential part of the program for younger kids.
