Please Keep our Kitty in your thougths!

She isnt even home yet. We adopted her last week from a shelter. She was to go the next day to have a her spay. She ended up getting a URI (upper respitory infection) and not able to get the surgery. They told me then it would be 7-10 days before she could go again. Well it has been 8 days now and yesterday I was told an additional 7-10 days. She was suppose to be a present for our family for christmas (now dont get on me about this because we adopt animals for life all my animals have died of old age). Now what am I going to do? I cant give up on her because it will doom her to death (which is what they do to sick cats). I am beggin and pleading with them to let me bring her home and get her healthy. I am sure she is super stressed there (i mean who wouldnt be right?) ... I am going to approach them today with seeing if it is an option to "foster" her until she gets better. I dont know what else to do. I have plans on putting her on a raw diet which i know would be helpful to her issues and just love would probably help some too. My vet friend told me last week she was not going to get better there and I didnt listen and let my heart fall in love with this kitten. Please keep this little girl in your thoughts. Her name from the shelter is Lainey and I was going to name her Karma but after all this I realized it is not a good name for her. Sigh! Melda

Id go with trying to foster her. She would probably be less stressed out.
Thinking good thoughts for her.

I got the kitty out!!! Whoohoo but it has been a long day with tons of ups and downs! It started as I was chatting with my friend about this kitten ... then the phone rang and it was the humane society telling me I could come and get her and get her spayed later because of her URI! WELL I go to get her iand it t goes well. I stop and pick up all the necessarys (because she is to stay with my mom until Christmas eve). I swing her by my vet friends office and well ... I start talking to her about her she looks at her belly and says oh my ... so she does an ultrasound (my heart is sinking) because she is young only 6 months and the thought of her being pregnant! So she does it and apparently there is a stage when kittens get a certain size in the cat it is hard to detect apparently it is easier when they are first pregnant (and i have heard this before). Anyway so she then determains that no it isnt a pregnancy at all as she is wiping away the gel (the cat is long haired) and notices ... that she is a he!!!! So well I will no longer be naming her Karma and his new name will be Buddha because of his big ole belly! So I will now be getting him to better health at my moms house until he can come home which will give him plenty of rest.

thats crazy! Can you imagine if they had tried to spay him?
Did you care about gender?
Glad to hear he is out and can relax and heal.

Hope he heals quickly - and he is definitely better out of a place that was going to spay a male - and a "pregnant" male at that!
Happy Christmas to him, you, and your family!

Wow, good for you, love both those names :

I am concerned that a shelter wouldnt be able to tell a gender. That is scary.
