Shipping Labels?

Right now I'm using the click-n-ship option through USPS and printing the "labels" out on plain paper then taping them to the box for shipping. I'd like to look at sometimes shipping first class vs. priority so I'm going to need a better way to print labels and possibly buy postage.

Option 1: Get a label printer or figure out the best/economical way to print labels on my current laser printer and use stamps.

Option 2: Get a label printer and use a website or software to buy postage and print it directly on the label.

Any ideas on the most economical way to print labels?

Any ideas on the most economical way to buy postage (if not using stamps)?

Any ideas on the most economical place to buy small boxes? Right now I'm getting free priority mail boxes but that will go away if I ship first class mail.

TIA!

I get my boxes from packagingsupplies.com, they are cheaper than uline.com. I also get the free USPS Priority boxes when I can.

I just pay for shipping thru paypal, usps clicknship, or Fedex.com and print them (for now) on labels that I picked up on ebay (2 labels per page).

Hope that helps...

I was going to use labels, but I still have to tape over the address (in case it is raining; this has saved me more than once!), so I just stuck with the paper and tape. I use paypal or Click n' Ship as well. If you're shipping over 2 pounds, FedEx is usually comparable to USPS. If you call and get an account rep, they'll send you the little plastic bags to put your shipping printout in for free (and you get cheaper rates too!)

I ship in polymailers, so I'm no help on the boxes.

Uline has nice boxes. They have tons of shipping and whatnot supplies. We use Endicia Dazzle coupled with Thub to shio (Thub is more of an inventory management segway to quick books)

UPS will send you lables and they have a 'world ship' program that you can print from. We use a regular toner printer and 3x4 lables that come 4 per page. I'm about to upgrade to a zebra or other roll lable printer so I can work from home remotly and there will just be a pile of lables on my desk for the office shippers

If you have any other shipping questions feel free to PM me!

I've never had a problem with rain, maybe we are just lucky. Oh, and schedule a pickup from whoever you are shipping through! Don't make trips to the PO or UPS store!
