milk dries up at one year? - Page 2

If she was reading the original book, that was written before she had kids so her wording could've changed in her pgcy books and even her outlook could've changed. I know I'm a COMPLETELY different person since I've had kids, lol.

6 yrs ago:

'Hey, Jenn, you're going to not vax your kids and have them in your bed till 2+'.

'Riiiggghhhhttt, good one, like that's ever going to happen!'

Hahahahaha, jokes on me!

I just happened to see "Skinny Bitch: Bun in the Oven" at the library today and it reminded me of this thread. I'm very happy to report that there's a whole chapter on breastfeeding, the book is VERY pro-BFing (it calls it "one of the most important decisions you can make in your life") and suggests milk banks for babies who can't BF for some reason. It also strongly recommends nursing till age 1 a the MINIMUM

I'm glad it's just poor wording.
My poor grandma was under the impression (I'm sure from her doctor) that a mother's milk honestly just dried up at a year. She was so surprised that I was still nursing DD2 at 18 months old. I explained that it didn't work that way and that I would keep producing milk as long as DD2 was wanting to nurse. I was pleasantly surprised to find her very supportive and happy for me.
