Was it retracted?

The last 2 times I have taken my son to his WBVs, his appointments have been with my pedi's stand-in. She is a pretty good doctor, very young, great with my son and understanding to our not vaccinating.
However, when she gets to inspecting my son's penis, she wants to retract this foreskin. Not to see the head..but pull it back just baaarely enough to see the urethra and make sure it isn't adhered:. I've told her no, and to leave it alone. But she insists that I should be pulling it back just enough to clean around the tip. I tell her I'm not going to do that, it should be left alone.
She told me that it's silly when other doctors retract the foreskin to see the head, and that should NEVER be done. But that it's ok to pull it back a little to clean. Sigh.

My actual pediatrician is amazing, he was actually thrilled that my son wasn't circumcised. He has *never* attempted to retract my son in ***any*** way.

At our next appointment, I want to bring this up to him. I really think the other doctor needs to be spoke to about this. Does anyone have the AAP guidelines for caring for the uncircumcised penis? I'm pretty sure it just says leave it alone, correct?

thanks for posting this! Our last ped appointment, the ped wanted to "see how much it opens" or something? Baby never screamed, didnt even notice, but I didnt like it, and lunged at the doctor. DH teases me about it, but I've been so terrified to take him back... i mistakenly figured that a doctor from another country would be foreskin friendly, lol.

Thanks again. I will insist he not touch it at all!
