I know! Though I did picture her for some reason with dreads. She's been busy growing the business and has been on another board much more. I'll let her know to pop on here to say hi.
If you get the Nova Naturals catalog, her teas will be on the cover!
I'm so excited-Andrew's 4 day weekend from school is almost officially over. The weather hasn't been stellar, so we spent a lot of time indoors. We made cookies and he has been watching my feeble attempts to get his red juice powder stains out of his carpet. Oh, and ink. The ink is a PITA. Seriously. It's going to drive me batty. The rest of the week I am going to do my best to weed through the various toy bins and thin the herds in preparation for his birthday, and get other stuff out on freecycle. I also picked up some hanging organizers for Andrew's closet that I hope work well. If they do, I'll be zipping off for more.
Egads I'm boring!

Heyla all! I was just thinking I should find the thread but simply didn't have the energy!
Feb is brutal here... a day in the 40s followed by a day in the single digits, a bright sunny glorious day where you just want to enjoy the sun followed by wind storms and snow that shakes the windows of the house. We're all sick (I turn into a very evil woman when sick/pregnant... I'm not a big fan of conventional cold medications but as soon as I "can't" use them all of a sudden I start to hate those who can!) and the weather is nasty.
On the bright side dd1 is enjoying preschool again, dd2's therapy seems to be helping, we heard babe #3's heartbeat on Monday for the first time, and I've been making a serious effort to get out of the house and interact with people. I think the fact that treasure map time is approaching is making me a bit more proactive in addressing the "under manifested" bits of my current map. I found a very neat book of baby knits and I'm wondering if the shawl on my TM might "count" as a baby shawl.
I might actually be able to finish a baby sized one in time!
Hope everyone else stays healthy...

Well I ended up having to go to emergency to get the sand removed. It was imbedded in my eyeball, needless to say yesterday was not a fun day.
We are doing good. The funding went through for my daycare so I am busy doing that stuff. I am also looking into selling for a company called under the moon.
Byron has started play therapy. Its going ok. Sometimes it seems really pointless.
Billie is good as well. Still delayed. 8.5 months and no where close to crawling.

Vanessa-if it helps, Andrew didn't crawl until AFTER he learned to walk! Well, that was pretty much due to his torticollis, but his physical therapist worked with him on it regardless. Don't worry-just keep at it. I've been learning that persistence definitely works out in the end. You might want to start looking into EI services for him. That might help with going forward with the suit against the pharmacy.
Great to hear that the services are working for Ro Wombat. It will just get better-we're really starting to see the results with Andrew these days. It took time, patience and persistence. He's asked me for "purple party pants", he now says Thank You (without signing!), open (again without signing!) and as of this morning can count to 20! Now I just wish I could get him to grow...he's finally getting within ounces of 30lbs and 38 inches.
Alathia-I hear you! I get the devils wrath since I'm disciplinarian and when a certain someone doesn't get his way he now begs for papa to come home or just goes to him since he knows papa is the big softie. UGH!
And let's not even talk potty learning...nothing is working here. I'm hoping new found interest in big ticket toys that he wants for his birthday work. Otherwise, I think he'll be getting married in Depends.

Yay Lala! Great to see ya!
Just a little update on Jack and the boys: Jack friended Dara and I on Facebook. He's engaged and both Gavin and Noah are HUGE and gorgeous. Vanessa and Clay-you can just find him on my friends and send a request if you'd like-just probably put a note on there that you are from the April '05 crew & Jessica's friends.

I have a facebook account but I am literally never there. Maybe once every month or two, for 5-10 minutes? I spend all my time on mdc!

Well, we saw the dr today and I have pneumonia, Ro has a double ear infection, and Laia is in the clear... hows that for a single Science Center outing? Ro's therapy sessions on Wed are at the Science Center and we all came home sick... it's evil. Whatever this is. Pure evil.
Vanessa- what is the play therapy for? I know a lot of the time I feel like Ro's sessions are totally pointless. So she plays with a bucket of beans or playdough for 45 minutes with the therapist. I guess she is playing with the therapist (ot me), but I don't really see that much benefit, you know? It's free so we'll keep doing it, and we'll visit the devl ped in a month or two but right now I'm not really seeing the point.
Though I found a book called "Raising Your Spirited Child" that is currently rocking my world!

Not certain if this thread is still "it"
But for any and all... looks like the new babe will be a boy! Laia is excited, Rowan is clueless, and DH and I are sort of wondering what you do with a baby boy. Love em and cuddle em and...errrrrr.... dress them in the little pink rainbow onsies we have boxes of?
A friend is going to be packing up a huge box of hand me downs (they're moving from MA to HI and "everything must go"
) so I know some blue will be entering my life but oh my! This is going to be a whole new adventure, I think.
In other crazy news, we had a Code enforcement truck pull up a few weeks ago and tell us that the people who built the house (16 years ago) did it illegally. They didn't have permits or anything. Somehow the bank and lawyers and insurance folks all missed this! Anyway, they were very nice but the long/short of it is we have a bunch of repairs we have to do, and permits we have to pay for, that should have been done 16 years ago. Total poo!
We had hoped to have an addition on the house by the time the babe arrives in August and now I don't know what will happen. Our budget was (is) super tight and we had planned on doing a lot of the work ourselves, but since we may need to get things done really quickly (in order to meet code) it may not be possible to "DIY". We'll just have to see. Wish us luck!

Sorry about the crap deal the previous owners left you with. Have you considered speaking with a lawyer? Might be worth seeing if you can get any reimbursement for $$ spent since they didn't build the house to code.
I wish we had some hand-me-downs for you! I was excited to see you were having a boy. You'll have fun-dont' worry!
Lala, Vanessa and I have been steady chatting on FB lately, so I haven't been on MDC in a while. Big news-Lala and family are going to Zurich for a while!

just bumping us up, how is everyone doing? Has everyone else's child turned into a stubborn, willful, head butting up against mama demon child (but perfectly polite to everyone else)? No? Just mine? HELP!
