What do you think about this website?

Ugh.... did you read some of the stories from the moms on there.... so much misinformation and situations that could have been completely different with proper support and guidance. Sad that so many of them seem to explain it away by saying that their kids turned out just fine...

It's sponsored by a grant from the formula companies anyways, so I wouldn't expect it to be factual or even unbiased...

I just feel bad that some mom, having typical initial breastfeeding challenges will find say, the moms feeding freedom webpage instead of say, LLL and just give up because it's "ok".

Looks like pro-formula propaganda to me. The link to their petition makes it sound as though the government is going to force breastfeeding. In reality, I guess they are trying to make sure they can keep distributing their "educational materials" in hospitals. Are there legal efforts going on somewhere that are getting the formula bags out of hospitals or some such thing? I'd bet that's what the whole site is about...

Yeah, I hate the hidden agenda!

Why don't they just call it "Formula Feeding Freedom"?

Sabotage galore...

I also don't like it a bit.

Im glad I didnt' run into that when I was having issues with both my girls- it was hard enough without finding something that said giving up was ok. I really hope that people who are having problems don't find that site and give up because its "ok".

I didn't get too far with reading the stories -- but was sad that the one I saw about the mother who totally breastfed, sounded rather smug -- she even said she had a hard time understanding why some mothers found it too hard, because there's so much support like LLL ...

I found myself wondering if that story was "planted," as a way of making breastfeeding moms appear judgmental and non-empathetic.

That site basically won the formula industry a Falsies award.

This tells me all I need to know.

Who We Are

MomsFeedingFreedom.com was made possible by a grant from the International Formula Council.
It's a site for the formula companies to make it look like they and ff by choice moms are being persecuted by us evil and judgmental lactivists.

i did find an interesting article but i don't trust the majority of the site and since its funded by the formula companies, its not a site i'd reccommend to anyone

glancing I didnt see anything wrong per say, maybe if I dig further

bf'ing can be really hard, I think a good website to support ff mothers would be good imho, vs just making them feel like worse mothers
