OMG!!!! Horrible!

Today a mother said about her son in ref. to his circ at a hospital:

"I thought all of them took them back to the nursery for it. thats what they did at the hospital. i got a break to shower and brush my teeth while he was off getting his little thing cut up."

I wonder how people can be so disconnected from what they are actually saying. So weird.

What.the.f*ck. I am not kidding.

That's when you look her in the eye and say "You're sick. You're really sick." Then just walk away.

I recently had a (most likely ex) friend say that she and her DH slept through it after their DS was born and subsequently circumcised a few weeks ago. I don't even know how that would work logistically, not to mention the emotional implication of it. I can't deal, seriously. That's why I say most likely "ex friend". I can't even wrap my brain around it. I gave her all the information. All of it. En masse. Then to hear that they "slept though it"? If I hadn't heard her say it myself I wouldn't even believe that someone could be that way.

Many people are very comfortable being emotionally disconnected from their sons. It is almost expected in our society. It is widely practiced and accepted as 'normal' behavior here. Protecting the 'emotional lives' of male children is just not considered 'good' for them.

The whole concept of AP (attachment parenting), is so anti-mainstream. It's not the default method.... ESPECIALLY for boys! AP puts you much more in touch with your child's emotional welfare. The woman who made this disturbing comment today was pretty clearly in 'disconnect mode' from him. She sounds like one promising Mother. So sad.

Aversion Parenting is the default method in our society. More so for boys. It is the 'mainstream' way. Red, white and blue if you will. Circumcision, IMO, falls under "Aversion Parenting" and fits quite nicely there!

How about: "It's a family joke now that he (son) was circ'd by a vet. When he grows up, we will tell him: Hey, you were circ'd by a vet"

A mother was proudly sharing this on a playground. A doctor who circ'd her son was also working as a vet preforming surgeries on small anymals.

Ugh.

The worst excuse I have heard is that the parents circ'd "so he'll get laid a lot". (this came from the dad).

OMG.

How about this one:

"Oh, soandso peed at the Doctor who was perfoming the circ, it was sooo funny"- while the 2 women were staring at me=while I was trying to breastfed my little 5 pounder. I just wanted to scream.
