Limp carrots

We bought carrots at the Farmer's Market a few days ago. I didn't notice that DH didn't put them in the crisper drawer after unpacking. They were also in a muslin bag. They sat on a shelf for a couple of days before I noticed. They are now flaccid. They aren't moldy at all, just in need of carrot viagra. Can I use them for stock? Or should I just throw them to the bunnies in the woods near our apartment?

Oh no, don't get rid of them that quick!

You can definitely use them for stock if you like, or even just soak them in cold water overnight and they should perk up!

HTH!

Thank you! I'll try the cold water first. If that doesn't work, I'll cook with them somehow. I'll leave the tips for the bunnies (and Reindeer) as usual.

I would use 'em in stock.

Crockpot stew carrots! I use crockpot stews to use up all sorts of limp veggies, since they get cooked to limpness anyways. :-p

I use them in soups all the time

They'll perk right up if you stick them in a bowl of water overnight.
