Anyone in Zurich?

Hello! I was just getting ready for bed and picked up my new copy of Mothering and found an article about a Waldkindergarten in Zurich and it made me think that I haven't reached out to find other mom's in the Zurich area on this forum since I moved here. My family moved here (Uster) in March of this year (2008) and I'm feeling a bit lonely. I have two boys, 4 and almost 8 yrs old, and would really love to meet like-minded moms who are close enough to actually meet in person. Happy holidays to all!

How exciting, let me know when you find out. Where in the US are you now? We were in Germany before Zurich but before that lived in Phoenix and before that Texas and before that (and before kids) CT and grew up in the midwest.

We are in Dallas but we are from Seattle. We came to TX for DH to go to graduate school and hopefully on to a job. : I am so excited, I hope it works out.

Our first son was born in Dallas. We were there 1999-2002. What a small world.

I don't know so much about Bern, accept that the dialect is VERY different than here (which is already pretty different from German!). Are there a lot of "mothering" moms there? Unfortunately for me, I think it's a bit far to get together for a casual hang-out...

The universe of academia is turning slowly, albeit in a positive direction. DH just heard that the department recommended he be hired but he is waiting for the school to make a formal offer. *sigh* Hurry up already.

I might have some questions if all this goes through. Like, how do we find a place to live? And furniture?

That's exciting that it's moving along, at least. I'm sure you'll have lots of questions! I have some good info since we only moved here a year ago. Finding a place is always the first challenge! I'll wait to hear...

my DH just (an hour ago) told me that there is a slight possibility that he could be sent to Switzerland for a month ... he asked me "would you like to go to Switzerland for a month?" I am giddy - dying, literally - waiting for a final answer. It all depends on what the company needs, but if they pick him, it would be a package deal - whole family instead of just one guy. We'll see ....... everybody pray to whatever God you know!

it would be a challenge to find appropriate petsitters, but we WOULD prevail ! (we have an excellent support community) Such an awesome opportunity ... don't know 'where' - but it's an energy company. I won't ask DH any more questions now - he already thinks I'm too excited. Trying not to get my hopes up, though.
