Montessori or Waldorf in Garmisch-Partenkirchen?

My husband might be transferred to Garmisch-Partenkirchen and I was wondering if there are any primry-level English-speaking Montessori or Waldorf schools in the area? I tried looking online, but everything is in German, which I don't speak.

Sorry, I don't have an answer to your question. I just wanted to say- wow! Lucky you! Garmisch is Beautiful!!!
I spent holidays there as a child and remember it very fondly> Enjoy the skiing, the fabulous pool/spas and the fresh air! I'm sure there are some good programs for children there. Good luck and keep looking!

If your husband is being transferred to Garmish, then you are probably affiliated with the military. You should try looking on the community pages for that area, but I am willing to bet that they probably don't have anything Waldorf/Montessori in the area.
Munich is probably the closest place where you'll find something like that.
HOWEVER, a lot of the local German speaking kindergartens/pre-schools base their programmes on the Montessori/Waldorf concepts, so even if it isn't waldorf/Montessori brand, you might still be able to find a programme that is close to it.
Hard to do from far away though. You might also want to try to get in contact with some people already there (again, perhaps get in touch with the English speaking community already there?)

Thanks.... I actually emailed the visitor's bureau and they told me there weren't any locally. Bummer! We would want an English-speaking school, too, so going the German speaking route wouldn't work. And yes, we are affiliated with the military. There is a DOD school there, but not sure how we'll feel about it. Lots of homework to do! As suggested, likely as not I will contact someone already stationed there, so we'll see!

There tend to be quite a lot of homeschoolers in the military communities abroad, so I'm sure you"ll have sympathetic ears about your DOD school doubts.

Yeah... and homeschooling is actually my preference, but the Garmish community is SO small I'm not sure there would be any others there... definitely something to find out!
