Eli Isaac is here, in an unexpected way

After 15 hours of natural labor, we welcomed our second son, Eli Isaac, via c-section on 12/13.

I thought I had done everything right. This was our last baby and I wanted the true birth experience. I switched to a midwife, used hypnobabies, went to a chiro. And I still ended up with a c-section due to him turning transverse at the last minute and getting his head stuck on my pubic bone.

I'm ok with it. The recovery SUCKS big time. But he's here and that's all that matters

Congratulations!

I had a similar experience, sort of. I really thought I was going to have my "best" birth experience yet with this baby, my third. I did hypnobabies too and had a doula and a doctor who was wonderfully supportive. And I ended up with a c/s for surprise breech after a few hours (maybe 7 or 8) of labor.

My recovery was really hard, but by about day 8 my pain was significantly decreased. I hope you feel better soon!

Alison! Congratulations! I am sorry about the birth not being what you wanted Your little one was born on my mom's bday so I just know that he will have an amazing life--you're his mom after all!

Congratulations! What a great name.

I had a not-particularly-wanted c/s this time, too, and, yes, c/s recovery sucks! I don't know what those people are on who think c/s is "the easy way." I'm sorry that happened to you. Sometimes we can do everything "right," and some unknown thing happens and it doesn't go normally anyway. So many things about birth are outside our control.

Anyway, enjoy your baby! I know you're so glad to have him.

You have the coolest attitude! Good for you.

It sounds like you were very much in charge of your birth. Unexpected things happen and that is what c-sections are for. Congratulations on your little one.
Many healing vibes for you.
