Good Morning Monday!

I slept til 9:30. I've got my 45 vitamins, my 1/2 gallon of emergen-C, and my 2 cups of cereal ... I'm ready to tackle the day ...

Yesterday, I went Christmas shopping, something I vowed not to do ... 2 months ago, I was determined to have a minimalist Christmas - one or two presents .... I got sucked in over to the dark side !!

I spent over an hour in Michaels picking out stocking stuffers ... then headed to the mall to find one specific gift that DD1 has asked Santa to bring her (a book light for reading at night). 15+ minutes circling the parking lot with a pregnant woman's bladder ... oooo, fun. I rear-ended someone ... barely tapped her, but she angrily got out of her car, realized I barely touched her, and went on with life. (a 10+year old Chevy, how could she tell if I did any damage anyway) FINALLY, found a parking space and braved the bitter wind to walk the mile to the entrance ... once inside, I realized I had left my purse in the car. Bladder got first priority, though.

Line at bathroom, of course. Wait patiently my turn, even though I wanted to scream "let the pregnant woman pee first!" But, then a woman barges in past the 10 people behind me and one more in front of me and starts to walk into the next stall that opens! "Excuse Me!" I roared. She looks at me with a blank look that I think meant "I deserve to go first." She mumbled something about asking the ladies behind me if she could go first ... in Spanish, of course. I roared, "I'm P*R*E*G*N*A*N*T !!!" She said, "so am I." Huh? You're like clearly 50 years old and just overweight (in my head, not out loud). She backed away from the stall. The lady in front of me pushes me into the stall. I have no shame at that point, so I say thank you and go (my obligatory 1 tablespoon, ugh). When I get out, the cutting lady is waiting ... I think she meant that she had a medical reason why she couldn't wait, but still, she needed to ASK before pushing ahead. And I don't mean just ask the hispanic women behind the pregnant white woman.

So, after that, I had to walk all the way back to the car to get my purse, then back to the mall again ... then i had to hunt for a store that sold book lights. Of course, I couldn't find a single book store. I don't shop normally, but I always thought that shopping malls had multiple book stores! Just as I was ready to give up - all that walking - I don't want the baby to be encouraged! - I found a Brookstone ... what the heck ... maybe? Yay! I found a really nice book light that's rechargeable. Then Target for some Heart Club Doll clothes ... and finally, I get to go home!

pooped.

But I think I slept well.

cold day here.

Too bad I have to get outside in it - MW appt.

Hi, I'm Nicole...

Hello,

I'm just sitting around, waiting to go into labor! LOL My last day of working was last thursday and I'm finally feeling mentally good and ready to get it together. It took a while to come down off always having something to do, getting ready for xmas and my DS 4th birthday, going to misc. parties and all that. So now...I'm done and wondering if the baby will be super late (like my son) or any day. Torture!

I feel great physiclly (some presure and stuff but not "Im SOOOO uncomfortable" like I hear from other mom's) and I've gotten my food back on track and healthy! (after two weeks of stress eatting and a hefty 7lb gain! I did GREAT the whole pregnancy, so Im not complaining. Lots of raw organic veggies and green smoothies and whole foods. So, I feel better mentally because of getting back on track with that too. I'll need my confidence up to perform!

Anyway...I'm here. Maybe I'll go to Joann Fabric's and make a little special hat for the new babe. I have a good amounts of hats from my son, but I just need something to do. And it will be a "special one" for my new guy or girl. I cant imagine it costing much in fabric! But I am in S. Florida, so it wont have to be too snuggly.

Ho hum...

Wow, sounds like you had a rough time, Janis!!!
DH and I ventured out to Target and Wal-Mart yesterday morning. He wanted to get out and drive in the snow and I wanted to get a few last minute Christmas things and just get out of the house!
We had about 14" of snow over the weekend and it's so pretty!! The sun is shining brightly and it's still such a novelty for us. We made snow cones with sweetened condensed milk and "Lizard juice", soooo yummy!!
Two days over today and not feeling any cramping or anything. Just more of this great pressure. Maybe I'll go from 0-60 really fast.
Happy Monday everyone!!!

Popping in to say we're still here waiting patiently

Things slowed down when i ate breakfast. Picked up after and now I ate some lunch and slowing again. MW is trying to get test results on the phone so maybe she's waiting, or i'm waiting until we know the results for sure.

So far doing great...in my birth room "cave" and loving how peaceful it is in here. I'll update soon!

Thought I'd pop my head in and say "HI"...Evan is doing great..eats like a linebacker, is more active and paying attention really well. My rash turned into hives...grrr. And I can't get into the derm that I want to see..ggrrrrr. Other than that, we are doing great! Just tired and trying to get a schedule down..DH goes back to work next monday, not looking forward to that at all.

Hope you all are doing great...labor vibes for you that need them...non labor vibes for you that don't want them...lol

Good luck to all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

happy monday :

I'm really glad I'm working from home this week--and I'm actually glad I'm still working because it's not cutting into my leave time--I want every possible second I can get out of that. I was feeling pretty nauseous this morning, and then I got hungry on top of the nausea and ate too much so now I am just uncomfortable. And I am jealous of my cat, who has been napping right next to me all day.

I hope everything is going well LemonJuice!!!

OK, so is having cramps and pressure on my cervix a good sign that it may be soon? Its been about two days of that and I feel more "penguin like" when I walk. (The baby dropped the 16th!)

I was induced with my son so have NO IDEA what to expect when the real deal comes! I'm sooo excited!

So, just laying around reading Ina Mae's GTCB and dreaming of baby! Can't wait to meet them.:

Tonight we go walking through this xmas light display, maybe it will help!

we just got back from 3 hours out ... mw appt & then grocery store ... brrrrrrr ...

sucky news (sorta): I am GBS +
oh well. I'd rather "know" if I ended up with a transfer as opposed to not knowing, and then treated as positive. We have no intention of doing antibiotics unless something indicated a need, such as fever or extended time after water breaks.

Baby head is still high, so my instincts may be correct that we're not really that close.

Now, I need to get something "done" around the house today. Girls want tofu stir fry for dinner. DH on his way home - he needs to bring the tree inside and cover the plants for cold weather. If he hurries, he can also start moving some bins out of our bedroom into an upstairs space I cleaned out 2 weeks ago for them ... I need to wrap presents tonite, too.

Hope all is going well for you Lemon Juice!

Good luck lemonjuice! we're thinking of you! :

Janis - I'm glad you are waiting. GBS can actually vary quite a bit I've learned! Why rush into meds you may not even need! I've learned that the hard way unforturnately. Good luck though - I'm thinking of you!

All the other mamas - One week closer! YAY!! (Or nay, lol!)

I think I now understand why they say "have a good cry." Last night my dogs got out in the blizzard we had. My husky (who is obviously built for this weather), came back in about an hour. My lab mix didn't. She was gone all night! I was a mess! She's never gone for that long! EVER! I cried myself to sleep thinking of my poor baby out there, freezing to death, literally:. But I couldn't go looking for her, my husband was working and trekking in the snow in below 0 degree windchills is not the best thing for a pregnant mama!

Finally at about 8am, I hear a bark at my door.: I jumped out of my recliner (which I moved into my kitchen so I could be by the door, just in case she came home hurt), pulled yet another muscle in my abdomen doing so! She had hypothermia,: and was tired & hungry of course. She ate, then passed out on the bed I'm supposed to give birth on! (O well, she's home!). After about an hour of me keeping her wrapped up, etc. She tried to get down off the bed but her muscles were so stiff she couldn't move her back legs!! I was freaking out (cried again - this dog is MY dog, like another baby to me!).

I had my appt with my MW today. She used to be a vet - so she was sweet enough to check out my Bailey . All is good, we got her warmed up and she's up and moving again. I think my MW was thinking I was so worked up over this that it would be best for ME to check out the dog, lol.

Anyways - with all that over with, I noticed more contractions after each time I cried. They lasted for awhile, but then fizzled out. I'm 39.5wks today. We decided to do an exam (mainly because I needed to hear that the contractions I've been having are at least doing SOMETHING! other than keeping me in pain and up all hours!!

So I'm 2-3cm, 50% effaced, "very squishy" and "ready to go" as soon as the contractions get into full swing. So that's what we are working on. She strippsed my membranes, massaged my cervix with EPO. She said I could try using a breastpump since it really just seems like the contractions just need something to keep them going. I get them enough that they are working but my body may be fighting itself because I have torn muscle tissue in the top of my uterus and the abruption may be returning.

So I've done one round with the pump - noticed some more cramping. I'd love for him to come tonite...it's my brother's birthday and the baby is being named after him...it would be kind of fitting.

I'm off to another round, and see what happens! GL to all those who are moving closer to the pp threads! :

: for whatever you need them for!!

Merry Christmas!

Lucy is a dream baby! She is making the transition to parenthood so easy on us! She hardly fusses and when she does she stops as soon as she gets whatever it is she needs (usually a diaper change and a meal, sometimes just cuddles). She had her first doc appt. today and is almost back to her birth weight (in one week's time)! Yay!

I'm doing pretty good. DH is sick (food poisoning we think?). Hope he feels better soon. I hate to see him to miserable. - He's completely head over heels in love with Lucy. He is taking excellent care of both of us.

Cold and snowy here. : Apparently Canada will have a coast to coast white Christmas for the first time since the 70's. It's beautiful, until you have to go on the roads (which are NOT very well plowed, nor salted, around here).

Hi, mamas. It's been a while since I posted, but school's out, the belly's big, the baby's head down, and we *finally* unpacked all of ds's baby stuff boxes, so I feel much more relaxed and ready to go. I am an EDD cusp mama, so I may only be chatting for, what, nine days? But things are happening, so if I had to guess I'd put myself at the very edge of December...

I'm envious of you in your comfy recliner, Leanna! I can sit on no other surface than my birth ball these days, the indigestion and discomfort are too much!

Dinner was disappointing. I couldn't get the tofu to drain well enough, so it fell apart. Then, I overcooked the rice, and it was crunchy on the bottom. DD1 complained because I didn't put broccoli in it. DD2 wouldn't even try it. And someone came over right when we were sitting down, so it was cold when I ate it. (of course, I'm pregnant, so I ate it ravenously) Oh well. It was nutritious, at least.

Now, I'm going to try to wrap christmas prezzies on the bed while channel surfing. I hate tv this time of year.

well...no labor yet and I ate like a pig last night (including sugar and flours which I've been *trying* to get off of...again {I was off them a whole year and now relapsed})

I was so full and uncomfortable I seriously though last night I was going into labor..no such luck...musta been the *gorge fest* that had me feeling so restless.:

So Im glad to hear other Mom's say their "ravenous"! I'm really hoping to have a realistic appetite again after the babe. I'll try and be gentle on myself, ho hum...I hardly need stress right now.

BUT...still lots of pressure and I sadly cant REACH my cervix, so I have NO IDEA where I'm at in that realm! LOL *sigh

Thanks for listening

Had my 40 week check-up today and she did an internal for the first time and I haven't progressed at all. No dilation or anything. Bummer. I know it doesn't mean much but I was hoping to have made some progress. Oh well!! My mom was thrilled because she's coming in Christmas Day and she really wanted to be here for the birth. So it would be awesome to have her here!
Merry Christmas Eve, everyone!!! Probably going to be pretty slow around here. I'm going to try to get the house tidy for tomorrow. DH has to work but he has off the rest of the week! We're going to do our little Christmas tomorrow morning before my mom gets here. Hopefully the weather won't be too bad! I would hate for her to get stuck somewhere. Thankfully she has a direct flight so that's good.
I had a bit of bloody mucus last night but most likely due to my internal earlier in the day. I'm fully expecting this baby to wait at least until the weekend. I would rather avoid tomorrow anyway at this point.
Well, hope everyone is doing well! I think there's only a few of us still 'with child', seems like everyone else keeps popping theirs out!! :-D
