Need some encouragement and positive vibes, please!

So I just returned from a BPP and NST. My fluid is really low - plus, baby had no accelerations - heart was beating well, but you know how the techs/drs can get. Baby was sleeping, as she does at this time of day, but they don't really want to hear that.

I had to go to a place near the hospital to have it done, as my midwives tech is off this week for the holiday (sigh). Anyhoo, the doc, when I finally got her to come in and talk to me (arg) - tried to scare me by immediately telling me that my baby isn't happy inside. She doesn't know my baby...I DO!

I'm still waiting to talk to my midwife, who has to call me back when she's done with her patient, but this place is recommending an induction immediately. (I'm a VBAC....twice proven already, but another VBAC nonetheless)

I spoke to my HB midwife (who is coming to the birth with me as my doula, but is my 'true' midwfie) and she was wonderful, as usual.

I know that decreased movement and fluid can be a precursor to labor, but I also know that it can be a precursor to death. My first three children were 2 weeks post-date, so it was expected that I'd be with this one, too. I'm not in a rush for baby to be out, but I do have the intuition that it's time...my second baby died at birth, so I know what the worst can be - ultimately I want a good birth experience for baby and me, and I want a live baby.

Not sure what I'm asking you all for, mamas, but any encouragement would be awesome.

Thanks!

I'm so sorry - that must be so stressful (puts my post-dates stress in a whole different perspective), esp with your previous loss. Is it possible to rehydrate and schedule another NST for tomorrow at a time when you know the baby is usually more alert. It sounds like you don't think the baby is in any immediate danger but that you are concerned enough to more closely monitor. Will they do another one so soon. Also, maybe try doing a kick count at times when you know the baby is usually active - if that is a decrease then I'd be more concerned/willing to take action. Do you know what condition your cervix is in? e.g., soft, effaced, any dilation? That would figure into my feelings about induction as well. I guess I would try to buy a day of some more monitoring - both official and my own really keying into the baby and not try to make a decision right in the heat of this moment.

What did your homebirth mw say?

Good luck to you and keep us informed.
