Christmas gift I can make for DH in the next 36 hours?

I realize I have waited a bit too long for this, but the gift I wanted to get my DH has fallen through, and I can't do it now. So...does anyone have any suggestions of something I could make for him in the next day and a half by Christmas morning? Almost every holiday, I do some kind of photo frame/collage of photos of the kids, so preferably something other than that. I know I'm not going to be able to make him anything spectacular, but any ideas are welcome for this last minute gift.

Thank you!

Homemade beef jerky

A crocheted or knit hat and/or scarf?

Spiced nuts?

Homemade shaving cream/gel and/or aftershave

Good luck!

Oh my gosh! Those are awesome ideas!!! Thank you so much!! I wish I could knit a hat in 36 hours, but I'm afraid I'm really bad. Just learning to knit! Unless I could go get one of those tubular knitters.

But, I LOVE the jerky idea. We are very picky about the kind of meat we buy, and only buy local, no-bad-stuff meat, and I made jerky once years ago, and we were JUST talking about jerky this past month. He would LOVE that! My one question, though, the last time I made it, I wasn't sure how long it would keep. Do you know?

I also love the shaving cream idea, because he just ran out of shaving cream! Perfect! I hope I can find stearic acid.

Thank you, thank you, I am sure one of those would work great. Thank you!

Lurking in Arts and Crafts.

How old are your kids? You could do homemade Christmas tree ornaments for him and have the kids help. For little ones I'd do the cutting and prep work and let them color or fingerpaint. I taught 2 yr olds in a private church preschool and we used cookie cutters for our patterns and cut out various shapes from cardstock or tagboard. Then we let the children fingerpaint them and sprinkle just a bit of glitter while the paint was still wet. For very little ones I'd put them in the highchair and put a few blobs of paint down and let them have fun (be prepared to give your LO a bath afterwards!)

For older kids, perhaps handprint art? You can make a pretty wreath out of green handprints. Use a large sheet of construction paper. Paint the child's hand green (make sure to coat the fingers well) and put handprints with palms in to the inner circle. Overlap all the way around. I've found it's helpful to draw a light pencil line circle to follow. Then cut out a bow shape out of red paper.

Just thought I'd share some kid ideas. I love the idea of homemade beef jerky as well. My DH would totally love that too.
