If you could buy any three books tomorrow...

...what would you buy?

I got gift cards to a book store : and I really want to get good books, so I'm curious what everyone else is reading.
I am considering special editions of well-known titles...
I want the best stories: romance, mysteries, young adult, folk tales, reference titles, and general non-fiction will do. I love books in general! I love beautiful editions with good illustrations, and wouldn't mind looking into a book I already own just because of the quality of the edition, at the same time, I will also consider getting a good story in mass paperback if it is highly recommended.

Thanks!

I'd buy Malcolm Gladwell's latest book (Outliers) and Toni Morrison's latest book (A Mercy.)

There's a totally gorgeous edition of Stardust with illustrations by Charles Vey -- that would be a good thing to get! Ladies of Grace Adieu by Susannah Clarke is also very lovely.

There are very few books that I would pay full price for but I was recently at GoodWill and picked up "The Lovely Bones" by Alice Sebold and never before has a book made me cry. I LOVED it.

I also bought the whole "Twilight" series and I really enjoyed it.

I almost got The Outlier for my beloved. He loves Malcolm Gladwell's books. So might actually throw it in for him as a "post Christmas gift". Thanks!

I love and own all of the titles you mention. The Lovely Bones as well as Twilight series. I actually considered special edition of Twilight, but I think I'll wait and see if they come up with something really gorgeous for the whole series.

Fiction is SO subjective . . .everyone has such different tastes. There's nothing worse than a novel you can't get into or worse, one you just hate. I would pick up a great book on a subject that interests me, a book on a current event or a yummy new cookbook. Happy shopping!

I ordered:
1. Outlander by Gabaldon. It's been recommended here quite a few times for the Romance readers, and I am certainly one. Besides, my sister and have read all of Judith McNaught and are ready for a new start.
2. The Ultimate Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, I didn't love the movie, but it looked like it could have been made out of a good book, so I wanted to give it a chance.
3. Dead until Dark (the first book in Southern Vampire Chronicles). I've been curious about this book for a while, and finally ordered it!:
4. Stardust, the edition illustrated by Vess (thanks for the recommendation! )
5. The Hunger Games by Collins (it was recommended by Meyer on her website, for all the Twilight fans, and sounded very interesting in its desription)

Oh, and a new Tarot deck, but it's for a different discussion.
