Ruth,

IMDB is really a great resource.

Let me think about what we own on DVD. Serious movies? Comedy?

Re: Little Miss Sunshine. We HATED that movie. Blech!

imdb is outstanding. There are interesting points of trivia and goofs on each movie.

I want to suggest "The Player", "The Breakfast Club", "Working Girl", and maybe "American Grafitti", "Chinatown", "Edward Scissorhands"or "The Great Liebowski".

There is a "woman in white" theme in "The Player" and "American Grafitti", a theme in many movies.

These are interesting in their own right and worth seeing a second time. You can get old television shows on Netflix also.

My kids were young in the 1980s, so there are lots of film that I have not seen from that era also.

yeah DH told me yesterday that there are some bluray players that will stream netflix too, or you can drop the $100 on a roku (sp?) OR you can get a laptop to TV cord if your computer is near a tv or you have a laptop. People say its "grainy" but I think they are being techno-purists!

I don't have a laptop but my living room is pretty tiny and the computer and TV around about 6 feet apart. Is it possible to run a cable from the computer to the TV?
