Happy New Year PDX!!! - Page 98

Thanks Pauline. Savings is gone from the medical stuff at the end of last year, with Sprogly's ER visit and my stupid infected finger. And you're right, it looks worse when we're sick. Just seems to be everything at once. School, work, home, health. I don't have enough wiggle room to cope with more than one thing. Bah.

Oh, well. At least there's OMSI. There's a gift that keeps on giving...I'll have to take a picture of Sprogly there, and send it to my folks with a card or something. We may end up living in our car in the parking lot there. We'll just live at OMSI.

again, Beth.. I really don't think it will come to that.

Sorry your housemate is getting you down beth. I think you've gotten some great ideas, which I echo. I am sure there is some remedy that will make everyone happy.

Jenn, I'm so sorry about your job change. Does that mean you have to work more hours? PS. it was really great to hang out the other day.

Dang Jen, what a downer bit of news to get so soon into the whole going-back-to-work adjustment period. I hope it's just temporary.

That sucks Beth. Are you going to talk to her this weekend?

Anyone interested in meeting up at a coffeeshop this afternoon? Ryan is calling a "project" day.

Oh Beth, I hope you can sort this out. I once had a HORRIBLE roommate situation that I couldn't get out of and I wanted to eat my own arm just so I could go live in an institution for a while.

I was thinking about maybe riding my bike to Fleur De Lis in Hollywood later on today. I would probably get there around 1. Is that something that would work for you?
I should clarify that my roommate sitch is overall not awful, in most things we're compatible, and that's why I'd hate it if it falls apart over this one thing. It's just that she's been increasingly sensitive to the point where I feel uncomfortable, not able to really relax. I haven't talked to her yet, I need to, though it's hard to find the right time.

Just trying right now to make my room livable...this is the first time I've had energy to clean in over a week.

One thing's for sure, regardless of how this shakes out: I need to do another major purge of Stuff. Seriously. Too much Stuff.
I'm wondering, Beth, if there is something else, unrelated that is stressing her out, and this is how she's choosing to off-gas the energy?

didnt someone just deal with the pukie/poopie sickies around here? how long can i expect this to last?
any tips on getting liquids into an 18mo that doesnt want to drink anything cause it makes her puke?
Tiff, Lily's bug started around 6 PM the first day, (Tuesday,) and she puked one more time after that around 11 the next day, (Wednesday) and then she ate dinner that night, and went to school the next day totally fine.

I don't know if it's the same bug, but that one was pretty short. Unfortunately, it was allllllll over the place both times, and I was worried about other people getting it. So far, we're all fine. : But I have no idea how long the incubation period is.

We passed another milestone last night...Chase threw up for the first time. I was going to ask Hedy this same question:

s Although Chase seems to have no qualms about drinking water or breast milk.

He started throwing up at ~8:30 last night, about 4 times in an hour. Then fell asleep, woke up to puke at 11:25, back asleep, woke up with dry heaves at 1:30am, back asleep until 4:30, when he woke up seeming fine and very thirsty. No more pukes until an hour ago when he was at Target with DH. Now he seems fine; he just nursed like normal but I'm going to withhold food for a while. I hope he sticks with Lily's timeline and that's the end of it!

It's sunny today! : I was working in the yard when DH called to tell me chase had thrown up again; I hope I can get back out there!

Awww... sorry to hear about all the sickies. Jake had a cold this past week, and I got it but very mildly. Only had an annoying runny nose. I totally credit all the extra nourishment I get from the herbal teas.

The is fantastic! I just got back from a 3.5 mile run and am feeling good. Jake and Mike are in the backyard playing.

And it is a great feeling knowing there are 2 different kinds of homemade soup in my fridge to pick from for lunch.

Beth, i second the idea that perhaps she may just be overwhelmed with something in her life... maybe a good sit down will help clear the air and you can find ways to support each other thru all you're going thru. She might feel she can't unload to you because you've got a full plate. ya know?

Oh, Karen, Tiff! That sucks! Poor Kiddos! My stomach is acting iffy now. We were supposed to go to a party tonight, but I think I might stay home. I also had plans for tomorrow morning, with my friend who bought Papaccino's. I think I may have to cancel that as well.

Also, did anyone hear about why Winco may have recalled their bulk peanuts? Todd said that he noticed it today when he was there. We had been eating them. : Hm....

I'm sure all that exercise doesn't hurt, either.

I was so happy, also, to see that she doesn't add chamomile to her teas! :

K. Wanted to clarify something, before anyone panics. Apparently Todd was told that the bulk peanuts were recalled by a Winco stock boy. Couldn't find anything online about it, so I'm assuming the kid probably didn't know what he was talking about.

So... please. No one panic. :

Niamh still cant keep anything down, and she HATES puking!!! poor kiddo.

I have 2 coupons for $20 each off dinner (after 5pm) at McCormick and Schmick's restaurants. Must be used by March 31, 2009.

I don't want them. First 2 people to respond, I will mail 1 each to you!

I'm going to be whisking Ryan away to the Horse Brass, where I'm hoping they still keep mass quantities of the best beer ever on tap. Prolly around 7:30, if anyone is up for some spontaneous beerocity.
