I finally feel like I might be ready to read that. I tried to about a month after my dad left, and parts of it made me want to punch a wall. But things have calmed down enough now that it might be OK.
I LOVED that book. Can't remember what it is about, though Hope you are able to enjoy it.

I don't think we'd stay for 'intimate time' tho.
Ha ha! A game night (or afternoon) would be really fun!

Candice - I'm so sorry about Lu's abcess. I'd like to know why Pike didn't answer too, especially since you were able to leave a message. I hope you were able to salvage some good times on your trip.
ok, that does it. The pdx mamas need to start their own blog for just this kind of thing. I need details!

Thank you all for the support. We have her on abx, no thanks to Pike, who still hasn't called. His office is open tomorrow, and I may give him a piece of my mind. The thing is, though, she's going to probably have to have a tooth out soon, and do I want to have to go through the wine and dine with another dentist first? Blech, I don't know what to do. One of the things that really pisses me off is that she was completely covered under the old dentist, and we've paid about a thousand dollars out-of-pocket to Pike. Sigh.

I also got a nice lecture from the lady at the healthfood store about how I should never give my kid antibiotics.

Sorry, I'm being a Negative Nelly, but I actually feel really good right now. (Thanks you, beer.) Joey's mom, sis, and bro are so freaking nice and sweet. We just had Chrsitmas Part Deux this morning. It was actually about twice as many gifts as our actual Christmas. We all got some sweet goodies. I'm wearing a whole outfit from them right now and his sis got me the cutest purse ever.

Once I got the antibiotics, I was able to simmer down. The abscess has grown since yesterday, but is still smaller than others that I've heard described.

Thanks again, ladies. Especially you, Sara. If you were here right now I'd sing you a Journey song.

We should all make it a thing where we give Sara a call next time we're doin' the deed and give her a play-by-play.

I'm jealous of all the action going on around here! I've been on "pelvic rest" since my mid-pregnancy ultrasound and will be until delivery, and then of course at least 6 weeks afterwards. Sigh.

If there's one thing I know, there is no such thing as a perfect dentist. They all suck in their own many, and numerous ways. Too bad he sucked in an emergency, though. That's when you hope they'll pull through and show you their good stuff. Although, I guess that's what you're always hoping for with the normally bad dentists. Apparently you can expect that the normally good dentists will suck in emergencies.

Did I mention dentists suck?

And, no problem. Having something to say when people are worried about tooth problems is what has most helped me deal with Nico's sad little teeth. I don't think I'll hold you to the Journey song offer.

We had a wicked awesome New Year. We had a little game party. There was lots of food and maybe a little too much drink.... didn't bang in the New Year but a good time was had over all.

Candice... I am glad that you have a handle on everything. You impress me with your cool head in tough situations. I hope that things simmer down nicely and you can have a great vacation.

Oh and can I request 'Open Arms' when you sing to Sara?

Wow Lydia, I just read your blog entry. I got chills in the beginning, reading the part about the psychic. And the rest of it flowed so naturally. I'm liking it!

Sara, them's fightin' words! Have you ever seen the Family Guy where Peter and his friends sang the Journey song? It's always a favorite.
Joi, it's actually got to be "Don't Stop Believing." I like the medley-ish feel. Thanks for the good words.

Weren't we all telling Sara when we got our periods so she could put it on the period calender? Maybe she has an MDC calender too. Wait a minute - isn't she in charge of the baby watch thread too. Hmmmmm.

I guess every tribe needs it's scribe . . .

I get chills thinking about that reading! It was supposed to be just for fun.

Once the whole story is played out I'll finish writing about it, probably edit it a million times and then submit it to Mothering. If it got published that would be pretty cool.

ok ok I'm warming up to this Journey idea.

Sorry your trip is soured by Lu's infection. I'm glad you got abx today and she can start feeling better.

That's right. Just rub a little salt in it and gargle with lemon.... Honestly That's what Western medicine is for.

Our NYE was a lot of fun. I went to a party early in the evening with all the fam. Then dh left with Olivia to put her to bed and I stayed with Hazel. I then went back home with Hazel and dh went back to the party. He and I partied when he got home minus as this homey don't play that way We were a little too loud and apparently rockin a little too much and the sweet babe woke up. Hazel watched us the whole time. It was worse than the cats.

Our crab feed was fun and I have some leftover to make benedict tomorrow

I think someone else has a sick kiddo right now that didnt' show up on my multi-quote. Maybe Ericka. I hope Cambell feels better soon.
