this is the 1st ever set i tried making along with a matching snowman
I wanted ciara to have something special to wear for our trip up north.

the longies were a PITB b/c the yarn kept pooling so i was told of the 2 ball method where you make 2 balls of yarn from the same skein and then alernate between then while you knit every other row. it took longer to knit them and was a pitb but well worth it!!

for ciara,btw!

Those are all so beautiful! Love the colors.

I'm a beginning knitter with a question...did you have a pattern for the snowmen or did you just make them up? They look awesome!

What a lucky baby!

The pictures are great, too - particularly the second picture, and the one of the two snowmen - they look like pictures you would see in a catalog.

Adorable... great work, mama!

thank you everyone!! you are all too kind!!!

i still have no confidence in my knitting so your words mean so much!
mommabeehilly- i put my LOs down at 7 and then knit from 7-11 or so every night. i knit english style though which is slow so i need to learn continental!!

donttrustthesystem- its a pattern in the winter 2008 issue of living crafts. its really easy and fast too! i knitted them on a car ride up to PA from VA overnight in the dark!

mamavegan- the longies are the LTK picky pants pattern, the hat i got off a blog linked in this forum..gotta find it... and the cardigan and booties were patterns i altered A LOT!

well first off, you just need go get over that no confidence thing, because darling, you are doing a fantastic job!

secondly, i had an ahh-ha! moment. i guess my question shouldn't have been "how do you find time?"...but "how do you get your kids to bed at 7pm?" it's a bit of a struggle around here .

i taught myself continental knit, but haven't quite figured out purl yet...maybe will look that up tonight (as i know it has to be simpler than i am making it). but if you understand what needs to happen to a stitch, then it is easy. just get some cotton yarn and start a dish cloth or something and give it a whirl. it's fast and fun! let me know

great video on continental

thanks for the nudge countergopi...i just watched this video on youtube and found it very informative. she covered many of my questions (purling, tension, efficient finger usage, stitch variations). thought you (and others) might be interested too.
