Thanks for such nice replies. That makes my husband feel great!
He did an absolutely fantastic job and yes, it was a surprise. He said he got inspired one day and told me he needed a couple of days in the garage to build something. It's not completely finished obviously. It needs the backing on the inside of the shelves and then either stained or painted white.


I would love suggestions on what to do with it? Anyone feel one way or another about how to finish it? I'm not opposed to color paint either, but dh might be. FYI, it's going in the office/craft room that all has light colored wood.

I don't think you should paint it, it looks really nice as is. Maybe use some varathane to bring out the woods beauty?
