Just 7 things so far today. Our old, ugly living room curtains and some assorted household stuff.

Goodwill truck came yesterday and took:

A HUGE box filled with misc. toys
a headboard/footboard
treadmill with weight bench
printer
another huge box filled with clothes
another box filled with sheets/towels, etc.
A big box filled with misc. kitchen supplies
a big box filled with more misc. items.
A large laundry hamper filled with misc. items (including a vcr, books, puzzles, etc.)
4-5 Large baby type toys (rocking horse type stuff and play gyms)
Large train table (this thing was huge!)
A large small animal cage.
And I can't even remember what else!

Today, I have called for a scrap yard to come get a car that has been sitting in our garage for ages (that doesn't work) so we can reclaim that space as well. Once we are able to go through the garage, I'm sure more stuff will begin to leave the house. I have no idea what my official count is, but I'm sure happy it is finally gone!

i'm so close! actually i got rid of a couple bags full of things today so technically I could have made it but I have one more spot to go through plus I hope being a few short with motivate me to throw out a few last things I already passed over.
and i can't wait for dh to get back and go through his stuff- i wonder if he'll let me set him a goal?

Just eleven more!!!! I can't believe how much stuff I have. I thought 100 would be hard and this is after months of decluttering. I really want to count the big bag of clothes that's still sitting in my car and be done but I did that before i started this mission. Tomorrow I WILL find those 11 things!

Cleared out a "mystery box" from under my desk of things that followed us from our last house.

15 things to rubbish bin,
3 things into recycling (I squished the bin down to fit more in)
1 more bag of shredding (honestly I am such a hoarder of "useful" papers)

= 18 things

Ok, I'm in....a bit late to start, but better late than never, right?!

The following items have been freecycled, recycled, tossed out, or taken to the car to be dropped off for donation tomorrow.

1 large plastic toy garage tower and 9 cars to go with it

2 cordless original Xbox headsets (new, never opened)
2 pairs of jammies that have been outgrown

1 pair of mittens that have been outgrown
13 Planet Heroes toys
1 broken waffle maker (boohoo! Any recommendations for a replacement?)
1 PS3 box that has been under the computer desk since we bought the system 2 years ago

Not bad for a days' work. I'm not going to focus on a certain number goal or I'll be counting pieces of paper to make my goal and I don't want to waste my time doing that. I'm just going to try to get rid of as many items as I can and keep track loosely as I do it.

We hope to use a portion of our tax return to paint and redecorate so I would like to get as much done as I can before we file our taxes.

I have not been participating because although I've been doing a lot of sorting, nothing so far had left my house until this morning. T went to his Grandma's for a visit last night and ended up spending the night so DP and I got busy sorting and purging all of the toys and books we had in the house. Then thanks to freecycle they were all gone this afternoon.

So I'm at *236* things gone now. And our toy room (where the toys are supposed to live) and office (where the extra toys were being kept) look great :

After my last post I decided I had to get more done today. So I went upstairs and went through my clothes, the sheets, and some other areas of the bedrooms. So, I now have sitting by my door and ready to go out to the car:

69 items of clothing
3 sets of sheets
14 pillowcases
2 (3-drawer) rubbermaid units
2 hats Marc never wears
4 items of trash (not to go to the car for donation, though!)
= 94 items
67 + 94 = 161! :

ETA~ Marc came upstairs to see what I was up to and his eyes got so big! He couldn't believe how much I had accomplished in an hour. Then he very nicely carried everything downstairs for me.

I managed to drag myself off the lazy Sunday evening couch and do a little bit more to get me over the 400 mark, threw out another 8 thingies, recycled 2 more so

i just got rid of 5 large trash bags and 3 smaller bags of kids clothes shoes etc. so I might be up the 1000 mark lol. I have more to purge but need a day off to really do that, working 9 days straight. but the first week of feb vacay will post again asap! goooooo purgy clutter and stuff mommas!!!!!!

Today I tossed a pillow that couldn't be washed.
The new neighbors took the desk that we left on the curb with a free sign. How convenient to not even have to post a curb alert on Craigslist.

I figure after I've reached this goal, I'll up the ante and work towards 2009 more slowly....

I did a lot of decluttering last year and will hit that plateau, eventually!

well i'm not going to offically up my goal (though the 2009 in 2009 sounds appealing-keep me going steady through the year) but we'll see how far i make it. another 75 to add- i'm amazed my small bathroom actually held all that excess!

I'm so excited! I have another huge pile by the door to be loaded into the car after Marc drops off the first load tomorrow. It feels sooooo good to get this stuff out of here!

Plus I rearranged a bunch of stuff in our bedroom, and I changed the sheets (That's nothing unusual. It's a weekend chore.) And...Marc and I finally got the Christmas tree down today. We've been waiting because my parents said we could store it at their house from now on (we have very little storage space.) I didn't want Nate to climb all over the box and end up hurting himself if we took it down early. I'm going to her house Tuesday after preschool, so it will be out of here. The rest of the decorations were de-cluttered and put away.

I have to say it again......I'm so happy!
