Medieval/knight party - does this sound like fun? - Page 2

I wish you'd been around to plan ours. We had a dragon pinata (made from a purchased dinosaur one we doctored up) that wouldn't break and it quickly turned into a lord of the flies scenario.

Fire-breathing dragon cake with dry ice smoke was cool, but when we tried to bring it to the table we had technical difficulties. Better to move the children than the cake.

The little castle favors were a hit though. A friend had a gazillion old babyfood jars and we put 4 hershey's kisses on top (got the idea from family fun magazine) and put construction paper around the jar with little drawbridges drawn on, then filled the jars with goodies.

I think we got the idea from a book called The Special Effects Cookook.

After the pinata debacle, we kind of decided next time around we'd make the pinata and buy the cake.

Apparently store bought pinatas are known for being difficult to break? We had to swoop in and snatch up the baseball bat before there was a disaster once it was down on the ground. The kids ended up tearing it up with their hands because it never broke. The rope broke and it just fell to the ground.
