After feeling premenstrual all day Friday I woke at 3am Sat morning with contractions. They stopped after a couple hours so I was able to go back to sleep. 7 am they woke me again but were tollerable. I just hung out at home with my family. At 9am we chose to head the the hospital since a snow storm was hitting. We arrived to the hospital at 9:30am where things progressed quickly (although at the time it didn't feel like it). I had DH put in a cd I made and I couldn't listen to it ...I'd start to cry, no matter the song. Mozart was the only thing I could handle, it was kind of funny! My water broke on its own while sitting on a birthing ball, I did most of my laboring in the bath tub...they practically had to drag me out after throwing up made me so weak and there was little break from contractions. Once I made it to the bed it was time to push her out! DH, my midwife and nurses were so encouraging, positive and helped me achieve my goal of a non medicated birth. Throwing up made it really hard, but also helped get DD where she needed to be...just a few pushes and she arrived! Less than 2 hours...well worth it, I can't complain.
