Should I get a different email?

Through our ISP, I have my business email. The problem is that their name is long, thereby making my business email long. The ISP is 13 letters long!! So to give you an idea of how long my business email is, it looks something like this: abcdefghi@abcdefghijklm.com (FYI~ my business name is 9 letters long). So, I'm putting together my business cards and it looks so long & complicated. I love my business name and we can't change our ISP's name (& they have filters, etc), so would you just go with it or would you use a free email company? The negative with a free acct is the chance of spam/hacking, etc & with this being my business acct. I was hoping to hear what you would suggest.

That's a hard one.....You don't really want to use a free account because it comes across as unprofessional. Doesn't your isp give you a dot com that matches your website address? Could you just do info@yourdotcom?

do you own the domain name for your business? your email should be julieanne@businessname.com. You can buy the domain name from godaddy, and set up the email through them, then you can configure the email so it's received in your regular email inbox, but people send it to the professional email address.

Yes, I did buy my domain name thru Go Daddy, but I thought the email aspect was another additional charge. I didn't know that I could link my ISP's email with my Go Daddy's email. To be honest, I get very confused on Go...'s site

get a gmail maybe?

And I agree, Godaddy is VERY confusing. I think I got 100 free email boxes, but I think it was a special going on when I got my domain name.

I wouldn't change it I have a long email too it is like abcdef@abcdefgabcde.com But, when I tell people its easy to remember because it's ME@MYCOMPANY.com so it's really only two thoughts.

I don't have business cards tho, so I've never had to cram my email on there I do "wear a lot of hats" so trying to put all the different departments I manage on a little card, THAT would be the feat! but who the heck would need my business card!

Just call the 800 # for GoDaddy. Their customer support is awesome and they will walk you through the whole process.

My suggestion (like others) would be to contact GoDaddy for help with getting your email set up....but gmail is an excellent alternative (I'd use gmail to read all your email in one place)

<im partial to gmail>
