Looking for a crochet pattern similar to this one (baby shoes)

Hi.

I want to make some shoes like this for my baby. http://www.kaboodle.com/reviews/litt...rochet-pattern But I'd like to make them for free.

Does anyone know where I can find a pattern for something like this? They don't have to be exact...but I'm looking for something more like a shoe than a bootie or sock.

Thanks!!

Have you tried Bev's country cottage or Crochet pattern central? They have lots and lots of patterns.

If I were you I would just look for a moccasin pattern and do a lay over button flap on top.

kinda like this one http://www.crochetandknitting.com/bslprs.htm without the cuff and add a lay over flap.

Not sure if this helps or not. Good Luck!

Thanks!

I actually went ahead and ordered the pattern because they were just too cute.

Probably a good idea. I haven't seen anything like that for free, & I've spent a lot of time around free baby patterns over the years.

Thanks ladies.

Question: What type of yarn would you use? It says worsted weight...but I'd like to avoid acrylic if possible. Do you think wool would work, and if so would I need to adjust the pattern for that? What about cotton?

I'm no help with wool. I use cottontots for all the baby stuff I make or regular dyed cotton, just because I like the feel of it better.

I do have a ton of cotton, so I would prefer to use that at this time. I can go get some wool though. With the cotton do you think I'd need to make any adjustments to the pattern?

It would just be regular cotton yarn...like these https://www.craftsetc.com/store/depa...pg=2&perpage=9

That pattern is 100% cuteness! I love it! You'll have to post photos of your finished piece. I think cotton yarn would be just fine for it.

I made two pairs! They are totally adorable!! : I did wind up using the cotton yarns without making any changes to the pattern. Well, I made a few changes, but not due to the type of yarn.

I have every intention of posting a picture when I find the camera my toddler lost.
