Do your kids have a trampoline?

the kids got some Christmas money to spend from relatives. I am looking at this b/cit is the only one with steel springs. the rest seem to use a bungy cord which reviewers have said wears out.
Do you have any experience with these?
the one I posted also seems to have the largest jumping surface but I can't find a weight limit. My DD is 44 pounds and I don't want her to be left out of the fun if it's toy for toddlers.
Any advice?

My kids had the Hedstrom mini-tramp and loved it. I believe we bought it when they were almost two and they would still be using but we had to throw it out. (Our basement filled w/sewage and the tramp was down there.) We normally kept it in the living room and it was used constantly. Ours had a cord instead of metal springs but it was fine and never wore out. The weight limit was 60 pounds.

I've been looking for a replacement because Hedstrom stopped making them. The one in your link looks great. I read a review saying the trampoline you linked has a 100pound weight limit. However, I saw no limit in the item description. I may order this one too - thanks!

we have an outdoor trampoline and an indoor one. here's a pictue of my ds going to town: http://i186.photobucket.com/albums/x...stmas08016.jpg

it is the bungee cord type one, but it gets very abused and withstands my kids well our's plays music too & can hook up to an i-pod as well...which is kinda cool. the one you are looking at looks wonderful too! your children will love it!!

We have this one too and my kids love it. They also abuse the heck out of it and jump as high and hard as they can and we have had no issues. Kids as old as 8 have been on it and also love it.

I will chime in with the others and say my DD has one of the bungee cord ones and has used it for years without any problems. She is now 8 and weighs about 55 pounds. She still uses it and has just informed me her friend who weighs 72 pounds uses it sometimes as well. DD jumps really high and generally abuses it. This is the one we have. I think your kids will love whichever one you get.

Adelemommy, some of the reviewers of that one said it was kind of light and bounced up when the kids jumped. did you find that to be true?

We only have a mini one (just a few inches off the floor).

I just pulled out my old exercise trampoline ($30 mini from Sears) and our dd has been using it since she was about 2. It stays out in the toy room and gets a lot of use-- low enough to not be a huge safety concern, but she's always been pretty coordinated, too.

It's pretty light, but that is a good thing for us because we don't have room to have it out all the time. This trampoline has the folding legs and removable bar. We keep it in the basement and can bring it up and set it up in less than a minute when she wants to jump. It does not bounce for routine jumping and didn't bounce at all when dd was younger. Now it might occasionally when she is really jumping super vigorously, but she really does push it to the limits - think holding tight to the bar and doing really high straddle jumps. I have no issues with its durability or safety. My dd has loved it and I feel comfortable recommending it. I can't imagine a child giving it more of a work-out than my dd has, but we do just have the one child. Two or more children jumping at the same time (which I don't think is supposed to happen but probably will) might be a different story.

ETA: I went to the link on amazon and noticed there were no reviews on that product, but there was a product called "Galt New Folding Trampoline" which had a ton of reviews. The "New" one has the red handle, which is what we have, not the blue handle like the first link I gave. The picture looks exactly the same to me except for the colors, but I am wondering if they might have done a little redesign and maybe some of the bad reviews were for the old version? I don't know, but my dd really does lean on the handle and the tramp does not tip the way some of the reviews were describing, so maybe the red-handled one is better.

We got a $40 exercise trampoline for a family Christmas present and we're all loving it. There are a lot of health benefits for adults, too! Like SweetPotato's DD, our DD is pretty coordinated and, at age 3.5, doesn't need the handle.

FWIW, the weight limit on ours is 175 and it's definitely the metal spring kind.

Thank you everyone for all the help. The one in my original link is not available until Feb. So my search continued. I found an 80 dollar model at amazon with a handle and it is also a regular exercise one that adults can use as well.
I really appreciate all the help. DH was getting sick of me showing him different ones. "Just pick one" he said!
Hee he
Thanks!!

Oh and PS... My DD would need the handle b/c she is not very coordinated and I am hoping this will help a bit. I am sure the 3 year old wouldn't a need the handle.

We have one very similar to the link, only rectangular. DS will push on the handle as he is jumping up to make 2 legs lift off the ground. When he lands, the legs slam back onto the floor. We got it with a handle for balancing. Now, I wish it didn't have the handle.

We have an adult trampoline with a handle. DD can still hold the handle while jumping for stability and likes to flip over it and hang by her knees. The bonus is that dh and I can jump on it also.
I think little trampolines in the house are awesome and your kids will love whichever one you choose.

We just have a regular outdoor one. Controversial I guess. However it has been a positive experience before having kids (bought it the year before for us) and since.

We have this trampoline from Sam's Club. It was well worth the cost and is it's weight in gold! It's been a lifesaver.

Edit: When we bought it it was half the cost of what it is now.
