Anybody starting Flylady with the new year?

I have tried her methods on and off before but never really stuck with them. I now feel like I am at the point where I have no choice but to dive in and really commit or I am going to go crazy (along with my family)! So, do I have any company? Any other baby flyers out there for 2009?

I've been a flybaby before, I guess I should consider getting into it again. My problem was that I felt so overwhelmed with the 50 kazillion emails and just keeping up. How do you prevent that?

i joined this past year. i hate all the emails too-i pretty much just delete them all except the sneak peek which has the whole week but its annoying. i'm considering telling my email its spam and then just pulling the ones i want back to the inbox.
my house isn't really that bad but i do have a few problem spots and a sink-full of dishes so i've been thinking i should get back with it.especially since i'm expecting in Feb! i really want to get everything under control now....
bellevuemama- don't worry about keeping up. it will repeat again and whatever you do do counts.

I'm in!

I actually signed up a couple of weeks ago and have started doing a few things already, like going to bed with a clean kitchen and emptying the dishwasher first thing in the morning (while the coffee is brewing). I'm going to take it really slow and easy, just adding a new habit as the previous habit becomes second nature.

The emails are a bit annoying, especially the ones that are basically just advertisements for a book or something. I opened a new gmail account account just for Flylady stuff and the couponing sites I recently joined, and I don't feel bad for deleting most of them unread.

I still gget thier e-mails. They have changed it a little so now you only get a few e-mails a day! Now instead of individual reminders they send you one e-mail called the flytplan for the day. Then we get about 3-4 others for testimonials and things like that. But the new system has really cut down on the e-mails! They just started it within the last month!

As for starting over, I'm in!!! I have 4 young children and homeschool all of them so my house looks VERY lived in. I really need to get organized, but almost always percrastinate and never get anyting done. The mess gets mme down, then being down drains my energy for cleaning so I have a bit of a bad cycle going that I really need to break.

As for right now I have 1 week to clean my house before my Twin DDs have thier birthday. I still can not believe they are going to be 8 in a week! they are growing so fast!

I don't open them. Most of them get deleted without being opened. The only one I open is the flytplan for the day, then once in a while I will read a testimonial. That is it. i also only log on 2 times a day. Once in the morning to get my berings, then again in the evening to clean out the inbox, and write my e-mails.

Actually, I just joined maybe 10 minutes ago. Boy, do i need to get organized. I have gotten sooo behind with a demanding 4 almost 5 month old baby (and a preschooler and toddler in the mix). I just never know where to start.......

I've started and quit FL many times for the past 6 years. I just started letting the e-mails through again the past few weeks. The more I learn about it, the more I realize how amazing she is.

The e-mails were overwhelming until I started taking her advice to heart, which is easier said than done. I think she sends so many (though now they've reduced it) so that you are brainwashed in a good way-- re-programmed, if you will. I think we generally have a lot of NEGATIVE self-talk, and she inundates us with positive messages to replace that. I found that even when I was not getting her e-mails, I'd bring her up in my head and remind myself, "you are not behind." That little gem has been a lifesaver, but again, it is easier said than done to truly believe what she says.

I am going to do it RIGHT this time. I am going to go sloooowly instead of doing my usual, "If I am supposed to do this, then I better try to do even more." I am going to keep the actual control journal. I am going to do the plan and not more like I usually do, which means I have too many coals in the fire.

Anyone ordered from her? I got the calendar last year and this (love it) but also got the Rubba Scrubba and can't really figure out why it is supposed to be so fabulous. I tried cleaning off the cat hair from my sofa and it did nothing. I got the timer and I am actually going to use it.

Yeah, I flunked out of Flylady. I'm giving Motivated Mom's a try too. I printed off the free sample page (which covers the next two weeks). If I like the results at the end of the two weeks I'll shell out the $8 bucks to get the whole year's planner. There have been so many rave reviews here on MDC that I'm hopeful. Goodness knows my ADD self needs all the help she can get.

I'm enjoying Flylady so far, but I'm realizing that I'm a "born organized" person. My problem isn't knowing what to do - it's getting the motivation to get up and do it.

Tomorrow I'm going to work on my control journal and add another habit to my (rather short) list. I think it will be "swish and swipe" since I hate cleaning the bathroom once it gets yucky.

I've been restarting this month. Just taking my babysteps! I posted my daily plan (1/2 a page) on the fridge and keep a dry erase marker on the top of the fridge so I can mark it off. So far, so good. Starting in january I'm going to add in decluttering.

For the emails, I make filters for the ones i don't want and they get deleted immediatly.

You can follow the entire flylady plan without getting emails. Either read or listen to her book Sink Reflections.

I have Flylady set to daily digest.

I don't have much problem with clutter (at least that I can control; my husband's spaces not so much), but I want to get back in to cleaning regularly and all that. My house is kind of a mess :/

I just joined two days ago and am already considering unsubscribing. The tones of the emails just annoy me to no end, and there are so damn many of them.

Why are you guys getting so many emails? I get one a day. Are you guys getting them from the yahoo group? You should have the setting to one daily email and you will get only one email with all the subjects lines of all the emails of the day in it. Really easy to skim through everything that way.

My sink is clean.
My house is in pretty good shape too right now! We'll see how it works. I did enjoy creating a control journal that I think I am going to nick name the brain.

I need to do something about getting this house organized/kept clean. I'd like to have routines down and the house in some semblance of order before this baby arrives. I've done flylady before (in fact, that's the reason my house was not embarassing when I went into labor 3 weeks early w/ ds-otherwise I'd probably have left cleaning till the last minute--read around my due date), but seem to never be able to stick with it. DH has looked at it and likes the idea, too, so maybe we should sit down and discuss it and how best to implement it in our family, so I don't get resentful thinking that I'm the only one who cares and give up.

I'm in! I too get the daily digest via yahoo. I'm ready to start.... i also want to lose weight and start budgeting... it's a lot to start at once but i'll take babysteps and i'm excited to start!
