Well, I sent mr. nighten to CVS and he got me some Prilosec, but it's listed as class C and (more importantly in my case) it interacts with something I have to take on occasion. So that's out. :/

I just hate taking the Zantac so often -- it's like 2-3 times a day now. And the Nux Vomica and papaya enzymes aren't touching it at all. The weird thing is, I'm carrying so low that I don't understand why I've got such bad heartburn. It doesn't seem tied to anything in particular I'm eating either.

Happy New Year!!! : It's the year our babies will be born!!! :

My new years involved pizza, watching a special on tv until 9pm, and then getting ready for bed. I did wake up for my second pee of the night just before midnight, so that was how I brought in the new year .

And, I'm 34 weeks today! I can't believe it. Yesterday I was feeling huge and having some back pain. I think I just need to put more effort into my posture.

Happy New Year everyone!!

I'm 34 weeks today too, wow! We keep saying how did that happen, not that we are complaining.

We had a mellow evening, my husband cooked a nice dinner and we watched a DVD and I napped during the special features so we were able to stay up just to see it turn midnight.

Happy 2009! We cooked dinner at with a couple we are friends with. They have a 3 month old. We came home around 10:30 bc the couple was too pooped to stay up (she just went back to work and baby is still up 3x/night). Was fun to be around them and baby though. Then DH and I toasted with alcohol free champagne. Our night was pretty slow but I was happy to be home. I couldn't sleep all night. My mind wouldn't turn off. Not sure if it's bc the new year in my mind starts the baby count down - or maybe bc we built the crib yesterday and I kept catching DH in the nursery staring at it in disbelief that he actually owns a crib. LOL.

I am 34 weeks today too! Yay! I can't believe this is my last month of going into the office for a while!

Happy New Year, everyone! We had a good New Year's Eve. We stopped by the party my parents always hold for their friends and visited for a little while. Then, we headed over to our friends house to ring in the new year. We came home shortly after midnight. It was a pretty good time.

I was told I am officially a walking pregnant joke now. It wasn't meant in a mean way, it was pretty funny. I was commenting on how I am now experiencing all the funny things you hear about pregnancy (peeing all the time, shortness of breath, difficulty putting my shoes on, etc...). It's fun and not fun at the same time. Fun because I'm finally at this point which means I'm nearing the end. Not fun because it's happening to me this time!

It's 2009, our babies' birthday year!!

Happy New Year's Mamas!
We had fondue as this is our tradition and ds passed out at 11pm after a lot of chocolate (we had chocolate fondue for dessert). I actually made it past midnight. We had friends over and it was very low key and fun.
I am 34wks and 1 day. I need to get moving but I am having troubles getting motivated. I still have no place for babies clothes.

Not only is it the year our babies will be born, but those of us that will be having early cesareans will have our babies THIS MONTH. OMG.

Wow. It just amazes me that I am legally able to have my midwife attend my home birth in two weeks! Yikes. That's not February either!

Yesterday was our third anniversary. My husband surprised me with bringing home ingredients for a dinner for me and a gorgeous blooming red rose (which somehow survived the -20 degree temps). We enjoyed sparkling organic lemonade and chicken fetuccini alfredo with soft music playing from our reception. It was perfect. Then we joined friends at a late night gathering where everyone was playing their board games. I think everyone was looking at the clock more to see when they could go home and go to bed rather than when they could cheer and shout Happy New Year and all that. I'm thankful that my husband and I enjoyed such a relaxing time together or it might have been really disappointing.

Today we escape for a few days to a cabin out in the middle of nowhere. Thankfully it's fully equipped with heat and water and cooking stuff. It should be fun!

Happy anniversary, Josie.

Well, we're old farts, but we did absolutely nothing last night to mark it being NYs. Which was fine with us both. But we were exhausted from having gotten very little sleep the night before, and then the rednecks down the street started shooting off fireworks lat last night and well, let's just say that I'm glad NYE is over and we can move on into 2009.

I am hoping to get started on taking down Christmas stuff today, and moving furniture around. We're definitely heading into the home stretch...!

Happy New Year! Yep, I stayed up late last night all right. 10:30! Worked for me.

Today I'm going to take my Christmas tree down and get all christmas stuff put away. Then I'm going to work on doing a basic hypnobabies write up for DH and our doula. I want something they can read quickly to give them the basics and to have at the hospital.

My due date is one month from tomorrow! I can't believe it! Hope all of you are feeling good and rested today!

This freaks me out. : And we know at least one baby is coming in just under 2 weeks since that's when my c-sec is scheduled for. :

Um, holy crap.

Happy New Year!

Last night we had a really good dinner. I had been feeling kind of malnourished, so I went to the local health food store and stocked up on good stuff. I must have done something right because I didn't even have to pop a tums last night before bed! I think it was the cucumber salad that I ate. I went to bed at 10 and slept until almost 10. Amazing My husband bought Mario Cart for the Wii yesterday, so he stayed up with the kids playing the wii until almost midnight. They couldn't handle the last 15 minutes.LOL

I'm about 33 weeks now. I'm so excited that in 3 weeks, I could deliver with my midwives. They prefer 37 weeks though. I was looking through a list of local cooking classes that I want to take and realized that I couldn't really plan on any of them because I could be delivering on any of those days. My eggs won't expire before I have this baby. Probably my yogurt won't expire either. I love when expiration dates are further out than my due date. It really brings it home that we're "this" close.

Speaking of close. Have we not had a single baby born in our club yet? I find that amazing. I can't wait for our birth stories to start. I hope we all have wonderful healthy births and babies.

And probably a few more on top of that! The January ddc already has a handful of babies! Anytime after January 22nd (37 weeks) is fine by me! That's the earliest my midwives will do a homebirth.

I got all the Christmas stuff packed away today and also packed for our trip that we leave for tomorrow! I'm sooooo excited. So I won't be posting for the next week, but I hope everyone has a wonderful week! And when I get back we'll only have 5 days until AllyRae's baby arrives! :

Happy anniversary Josie!

We had lamb chops, burnt (on purpose!) brussel sprouts, cannolis and sticky toffee pudding for our NYE's dinner. I was going to do king crab legs but decided to save that for dinner tonight. My hormones are in overdrive right now. I got super angry last night about some things going on in our life, some fixable and some not. DH gets worried when I get all worked up and I had to reassure him that me and the baby were ok and that my hormones were just amplfying my emotions 100x. Oh, and I am crying at the drop of a hat too! I cried at midnight, I cried again while watching the Rose Parade today. Nothing sentimental happened... just...cried. ugh.

Today I'm cleaning....very slowly though. I'm starting to have a pregnancy waddle but mostly because my crotch hurts so much!!!! I'm "resting" from cleaning right now but I know it's going to hurt so much to stand! eeks!

I want to do our 2009 goals/projections with DH sometime today. We used to do them but didn't for the last two years and those were both kinda screwy years! So I am adamant we do it this year!

Happy New Year! We had a quiet night at home with couple friends. The kids were all asleep early, and then we enjoyed a nice dinner, chatted and played a few games. Just enough.

With all the talk of babies coming soon, I put off the Christmas dismantle today, and sewed, sewed, sewed for this little guy. It was so much fun! I made a warm minky sling and carseat cover, a second bouncy chair cover so one can go in the wash, a towel and several rec blankets and wipes. I had all this soft minky and flannel I've been staring at for months, but never a whole day to drag it all out. None of it is anything super special (ie not professional), but it was awesome to sit, finally get it done and then play with it and realize he'll be here soon. They boys had fun putting their stuffed animals in the slings and car seat!

JosieAK and Gillian28 - enjoy your trips! AllyRae - I can't believe you're so close!

I got my wool interlock yesterday! Yippee! Now I can make a few soakers and longies! I think I might even make a pair of shorties for the summertime!

I got a full two yards thinking I would make a few things for DD but well, she already has so much interlock wool I think this will all be for the new baby!

I also rearranged the diaper storage and added in all the new born stuff...I think I need some more preemie prefolds...I only have 2 dozen I think I will want three...they just go through so many diapers in those first few weeks!

I also realized we have no baby socks! How silly is that?

We are having our "home visit" with our midwife next week with the person she has picked to assist her. It is really for my midwife's assistant because not only was she my midwife last time she is also the mom of my eldest dd's BFF. We have been friends for years actually. It makes life so easy! Anyway, I have started to worry about how clean the bedroom is which is so silly in so many ways! The main one being that I doubt I will be laboring in there much...its just not my favorite room.

I know I had a bunch of other stuff to say but its has disappeared!

Mine will probably be in 3 1/2 weeks. Holy crap indeed! I started freaking out and cleaning today and going through the baby things. I packed my going home outfit (my favorite maternity jeans that I haven't been able to fit into for the last 6 weeks or so) and some pajama bottoms and slippers. Trying to think of what else I might want to have with me during my hospital stay since I know I'll be there at least 2 days.

Hi Nighten,

I was having really bad problems and my ob suggested pepcid (don't remember if there is a chemical difference between that and zantac/prilosec) and also gave me samples of protonix (prescription) to try. Fortunately, my symptoms went away the next day (a not-so-small miracle! ) so I never investigated the ratings for them any further. Just thought I'd mention them as possible alternatives for you. I hope you are feeling better soon...it's an awful problem.

Happy New Year to everyone!

Thanks, Sunny. I've got my midwife's appointment Monday so I'll ask her about it then.

DID, Baby socks is one of the few things we haven't got either. I keep meaning to buy some but I always forget or put it off. It will happen eventually...
