Now I know that this might be difficult, because there's usually a few to choose from. But which book has been your absolute favourite read from 2008?

Mine was John Connolly's The Book of Lost Things

Okay, I'll play... but don't judge!

Twilight by Meyer and Perfect by McNaught (there, I said it

... of a more substantial matter, I guess I'll never forget reading Rape of Nanking.

oh and of something in between I will definitely remember and reread - then I Am Legend and The Mist were really good.

My favorite grown-up book was probably The Snoring Bird by Bernd Heinrich. But I think my absolute favorite was one I read to DD: Moominpappa at Sea by Tove Jansson.

The Stolen Child was a lovely, but sad book. I didn't include that because I read it last year

The Kite Runner by Khaled Husseini was another favourite

and

Small Wonder by Barbara Kingsolver

I just cannot help myself. It's impossible to stick to just one favourite book

Peace

I absolutely adored The Historian

Another favourite of mine was What I Loved by Siri Hustvedt. This book made me cry one night as I lay on my sons bed with him while he fell asleep. I had to cry silently so I wouldn't wake him

Well, since the only books I have read this year (this sounds really bad, but baby, pregnant and work doesn't leave a lot of time) were the Twilight series, I'm going with that.
But I am looking for 2009 ideas.....
