So I've decided that finally I'm going to try my hand at making some diapers. I just want to make some fitteds for dd and for the bean on the way. I already have some great fabric for the outers (some cute flannel and some cotton knits) and for the soaker (I'm going to use cotton terry I think), but I really want to use microfiber and velour for the inner layers. I would like to buy the fabric online since I haven't been able to find either at my local joann's the last few times I've been there. To save on shipping I figured its probably best to order from the same store. Does anyone have any suggestions for online fabric stores that sell both of those types of fabrics? If they sell other diaper making fabrics too that's even better.

This book feels good in your hands. The paper is heavyweight, and the illustrations flow perfectly.

I just (literally, maybe 2 minutes ago) placed an order here: www.kidsinthegarden.com I'm also attempting my first go at diaper making. I just got a new sewing machine for Christmas from the hubby
: Now, instead of coaxing and sweet talking my 1940s (yes, it really is that old) very finicky Singer, I have a fancy Janome to really learn on! Yay! Anyway, that above link had lots of fun stuff for diaper making...I also bought PUL, hook-and-loop closure, and FOE (fold over elastic, so I don't have to figure out how to sew elastic in). I'm going to make some plain covers and then, if that goes well, try my hand at some pockets with the PUL on the outside and the microfleece as the inside (I already have a million terry inserts). I've never bought anything from them before, but what I liked about this particular site was you can order most things by the inch--so you just get what you really need. Also, the prices and the shipping costs seemed very reasonable.
Good luck with your diaper making adventure!

I also recommend Kids In The Garden. I buy stuff from there a lot and am always happy. The prices are great and customer service is wonderful!
