thank you note tip

I always struggle with sending snail mail thank you notes. Yet, I know that in certain circumstances an e-mail or a phone call just won't do.

This year I typed my notes on the computer and then just copied them by hand onto cards. It might sound like an extra step, but I was able to write all the notes in just minutes instead of struggling over exactly what to say as I write each card. I'm just so used to typing everything that things flow better on the keyboard.

So if you are struggling with your notes, try writing them on the computer first.

That's a good idea. You can also save particularly wonderfully worded notes for later. Of course you don't want to resend the same verbiage to the same person, but if you write a particularly wonderful thank-you for Aunt Gloria sometime, then you can be inspired from it when you write MIL another time. Then again that might not be the way to go, since the most wonderful notes are totally custom - but still, you can have a template and some inspiration handy so it becomes a brainless task.
