My birth at Special Beginnings was the most positive experience of my life. I had some complications- water breaking 3 days before ctx with light meconium, but it was treated with...
My mom gave me this for Christmas and I absolutely love it. Gorgeous illustrations and very sweet ideas inside. Plus it's just structured enough so that I can be creative about what I include...
This is the prettiest carrier, and fit my shoulders and figure (at 5'6") much better than the Ergo. I got it when my daughter was about nine months, two years ago - it doesn't appear to have...
This potty is great - excellent value & performance! (plus it's cute!) My 9 month old DS took to it right away. He is a big boy (30 in. tall - feet not quite on floor - & 27 lbs.) and this is...
we paid about 1K but our midwife has a sliding scale as well so that money isn't the reason that folks can't/won't birth at home.
that price covered all pre-natal, birth and post-natal.
it was a lot cheaper than health insurance :-)
Can anyone tell me where they found their midwife? Online, through a group? I am thinking about moving to Oahu before my husband gets back from Iraq, but I am terrified I won't have access to a midwife.
I don't know what the regular price is. I had midwives for my prenatal care and they did not charge me because I was unable to pay. I realize you can probably pay, just letting you know that there are midwives out there who will work with you and what you can afford.

Any information would be most appreciated!

I found mine through my Doula, Tammy Uva. If you are considering a homebirth definitely hire her!! She is AMAZING and her hubby is in the military so she knows how to jump through all the hoops. My midwife was Dr. Lori Kimata, from Sacred Healing Arts. She has an office in Honolulu and the North Shore. If you have any questions, just ask!

I found my midwife through friends. After I got names I called up the few that were brought up and then set up interviews. I knew before I hung up the phone that I was going to go with the midwife that I picked to be at my first birth. Everything just felt right and she had the most kind voice.
