Our son Dylan Daniel finally made an appearance on Sunday, December 28th at 1:47pm - 11 days past his due date. He is incredibly healthy - weighing in at 8lb14oz and just beautiful. He doesn't look "overdone" at all - he didn't have any vernix but he also didn't have any peeling - very soft, wonderful skin.
He was born at home after a hard but beautiful 10 hour labor. Contrax started out at about 4-5 minutes apart and quickly progressed to what felt like a really long transition (like 3 hours of it). It was definitely very difficult but one contrax at a time really helped me to get through it. I had a wonderful support team including my 9 year old daughter who was just amazing through the whole thing. I didn't tear except one labial laceration requiring just one stich - even though he came out pretty fast and had a big unmolded head. Overall, it was my dream come true homebirth. Recovery has been awesome and he and the whole family are just doing great.

Good luck to everyone still waiting. I REALLY know how hard the waiting is.
